Love it! Dig that dirty bass sound and Peter's voice sounds terrific. I'm going to see his band and Sting's perform together on the Rock Paper Scissors tour at Air Canada Centre in a couple of weeks. Should be a blast
I love peter gabriel. I think there is dark undertones throughout all of his work. Even on albums like So.
I now have a reason to envy people that live in Michigan. Peter Gabriel and King Crimson are playing the same venue, the same night, Oct. 23, at The Magic Bag. Whoever is near there or attending this show, let me be the first to say, in the kindest of ways, of course, that I hope you poop your pants in the checkout line at a grocery store.

That's got to be a typo of some kind. Crimson aren't touring the States this fall, they're in Europe.
That's an automated database, it's probably just a tribute band's show that has been listed in error.

i'm bummed to have missed the co-headling tour this summer... i just couldn't make it happen with baby duties, especially after seeing two cure shows the week before. i've seen peter once, and hopefully will see him again, hopefully still playing stuff like 'rhythm of the heat' and 'darkness.'
that all said, 3/melt is one of my top ten albums of all time, and i'm currently working on a cover of 'no self control' with the band...
The show I saw with Sting and his band was fucking tremendous. Packed with absolutely unforgettable moments.
Instant pre-order for me!

Last month I picked up some of the 2002 remasters, as well as some other PG stuff I had never heard before. The Security Project Live1 was one of those purchases. At the time, I thought it was a brief stint of Peter reuniting with former bandmates, as well as some King Crimson members, and some from Shriekback, for limited live performances. I finally got around to giving it a spin last week, and while I was listening to it, I thought Peter sounded great, the band sounded great, and the sound quality was top notch. I recalled seeing Security Project Live2 at the store when I picked up Live1, but skipped on it, in case I didn't like Live1. I went to YouTube to hopefully hear tracks from it, and found a live performance of a song from the show. I had no idea this was a tribute band with guest singers. The two guys sound just like Peter. The next day, I went back to the store and picked up Live2. The most recent singer is Happy Rhodes. I haven't listened to the new five track EP featuring her. CDs and audio files can be purchased from the band's website. I highly, highly recommend picking up these two live albums, if you don't have them already. Truly a great listening experience.

Entire Peter Gabriel Catalog Coming To Spotify
From Friday 18 May Peter's music catalogue will start to be released on Spotify.
Though a number of Peter's best-loved songs are already on the service this will be the first time that whole albums will be made available on Spotify.
The launch will see Peter's first four self-titled albums (including the German language ein deutsches album and deutsches album), *So,* US and UP as well as the Best ofs Shaking the Tree a*nd *Hit all go live.
It's the start of a monthly roll-out of releases which will include the soundtrack albums, the orchestral / song-swap albums, live albums and then B-sides and remixes all being made available.
i find it kind of strange that the top video is trey gunn on the warr guitar and not tony on the stick i did not know the two had ever played together i guess the crimson correction

As far as I know Trey essentially is playing Tony's role in The Security Project
Been listening to I-IV a lot lately. I have the 2003 remasters and I'm wondering if there is a better option out yet? Can't seem to find much info so I assume those 2003 remasters are the most up to date sound released on digital or cd so far? I think the 2003s sound fine but I am noticing that when I include them in playlists they are much quieter than everything else. Compared to the So 2012 remaster for example, they are so quiet they can't even be mixed in a playlist with that album.
I'm hardly an expert, but The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and So are great albums, even if that isn't really your thing.
Peter just released the first song from I/O!

I/O is really coming out? It has been a long wait.
According to this article he is releasing songs during each full moon on the lunar calendar up to the release of the album. No official release date yet.
