I've not heard of either band on this Splitsville but I really love this shirt.

Neither? Check out Nothing’s ‘Guilty of Everything’ album to start. You’ll dig it!

Mine did too...I just finished cancelling the other two haha. Just go to 'My Account' and when you click on the other order numbers there's a button to cancel it...cancels go through pretty quick and I got the emails that my payments were refunded almost instantly.

Listened to their albums and yeah they're pretty good. one thing that stood out to me, and this is going to sound weird but it's a first blush thing so bear with me: a couple of the songs sound like Smashing Pumpkins when James Iha is singing. Weird like I said but that was only my cursory listen. I'm going to go through a couple more times with each album.

I also have some Integrity because hey in for a penny in for a pound.

fuck. wish i had done that instead of e-mailing customer service. because of course they canceled the two orders that had the cheaper shipping option and kept the one with the more expensive option.

also, every time you talk about buying records and shipping costs i feel so bad. i don't understand how a parcel traveling across the same continent suddenly becomes so much more expensive to transport when it crosses a border. and it's on the same landmass. it's not like you're on vancouver ISLAND (unless you are? but still.)

There will obviously be a ton of different opinions on this but, for my money, END is the best heavy band going right now.

End's record was my favorite last year. Here's my IG post with some live stuff from the boys from Nov 2019, with pretty good sound:

The latest stream by The Devil Wears Prada started a few minutes ago. They're playing a full show in a venue-like room with a full stage light show and production. It's in celebration of the upcoming ZII EP releasing next week and they're playing the entire thing plus additional songs.

So far, it's fucking awesome. Their other two streams were great but suffered from feeling like a practice session they recorded in a small room. This is much more like a real show and the sound quality is FANTASTIC. Definitely worth the $15.

EDIT: this stream was FANTASTIC. The fourth song on the new EP is amazing.

It's on demand for 48 hours.

August Burns Red released a 10th-anniversary re-recording of Leveler today and I'm only on "Empire" but it sounds fantastic so far--both in terms of the band's delivery and the production--is clearly a different session. They apparently detuned half a step for all of the songs as well. I can't say that I noticed it but I haven't listened to the original in years. I think this is such a better idea than just some half-assed, further-brickwalled "remaster" cash grab.

EDIT: oof, "Cutting the Ties" was my favorite song on the record and this re-recorded version is bad. Everything about it is off and it misses the heights the original version soars to.

"Nora" and "Contagion" are definite highlights for me. Breakdown at the end of the latter track really hammers home the tone of the EP for me.

I've been listening to the Leveler re-release and original release deluxe edition nonstop. This was the album that came out right when I was getting deep into the metal(core) world back in 2010-2011, shortly after moving to Denver. I LOVED this album. "Empire" and "Cutting the Ties" are my favorites and, if I'm being honest, I've really just been listening to the two versions of those two songs on repeat mostly.

They did a live stream show last night, playing the album in its entirety with an encore. It was a hell of a show, full live production, and they sounded phenomenal. It was worth the money and is still available to watch on-demand through tomorrow.

    Deadguy reunion?

If Furnace Fest somehow falls apart, this is my local backup plan.

I just can't wrap my head around this.
I follow Hypocrisy since the 90s and want him to go back to Alien Abduction Death Metal.
I know he likes to experiment and fuck around but it's such a different direction..
I guess he extended his fanbase, too working with Till.

Yeah, definitely one of their best, if not the best.
I see you're into the heavier stuff, too.

Really? I thought End of Disclosure was classic Hypocrisy. Peter mentioned recently that the new Hyporcisy is complete, so I am pretty excited for it since it has been so long.

Agreed. I want to see what direction they're steering into.
End of disclosure was okay, but just not The Arrival. I know, I know, I'm hard to please..

Alestorm is only heavy if measured in the amount of drinking needed to endure that....noise. Too much happy senseless party going on for my dark and misanthropic taste.
