VII: Sturm Und Drang was great. Everything after Sacrament was forgettable to me. Not super into Wrath but it's an ok record. They'll never top Ashes of the Wake ever again.

I actually really liked Wrath. The one after that is by far their least memorable album. VII was super good because of the fire lit under Randy from his stint in prison. But yeah Ashes and Palaces are both impossible to top.

there's a new band Second Arrows, featuring all these guys:

Vocals – Chris “Crispy” Corvino (Deadguy)
    Guitar – Chris Byrnes (ex-Every Time I Die/Nora)
    Guitar – Dan Brennan (Ensign)
Bass – Pete August (The Banner)
    Drums – Chris Ross (Nora)

New song Thornes is apparently only linkable from this BV article. Direct Soundcloud link not possible.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the shit out of the new album because I love LoG's sound. But it's very evident why Chris left the band. I'm really curious as to what LoG would sound like if he had gotten his way to change the band's sound.

They're good. Found them due to the latest single I posted about. I got a Sirius XM 4 month trial. Bene listening to Liquid Metal non-stop since. Found that and helped boost my love for Fit For An Autopsy more than it was even prior.

I get not wanting to veer too much from what you're good at but, at some point, you'd think that would just kill your creativity and spirit.

New Make Them Suffer album is pretty good. Definitely wish there were fewer clean choruses, but solid.

I mean, that's basically why Chris left, right?

That's certainly how he made it sound, but have you heard his new band?

Not sure how I feel about the new LOG record. There are no solos, no intricate riffing. The drumming sounds like a kid wanting to be Chris Adler. I dont know.

There's maybe 2 songs that are memorable to me. Not super into it. I really loved VII: Sturm Und Drang. This feels like a regression.

Wow, this is PAINFULLY mediocre. It doesn't stand out whatsoever. It'll be just fine playing after Five Finger Douche Punch on a dude bro metal mix tape for the gym.

Ope. I ended up going for the Deathwish clear and red splatter variant.

I LOVE Sacred Bones, but need to make sure I move forward with getting one of their special editions next time. I only have Pharmakon and the Plantasia reissue from them - but their artist roster and output is great stuff.

More of a rock track but it's pretty good all things considered. I'm LOVING their art direction they have been running since Amo.

I wish I'd enjoyed this more, it's not a bad track at all but it's just... meh. Feels like I've heard that chorus 103813038 times before, can't get into that kind of "chorus arena chord progression" anymore I think. And this "pop song with heavy bridge" worked with Ludens but I hope they don't stick with this formula in every song. One thing I've loved in amo was how they managed to sound good and cohesive in both pop and heavy areas.
