    Fear The Walking Dead

    Starts next month.

Set in Los Angeles, the series follows a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two children–a son and a daughter–in the opening stages of the zombie apocalypse as they come to terms with the impending collapse of civilization

Looks better than Walking Dead I say.

I really liked the last season of TWD and am looking forward for the savage battle which is ahead of us, but it definitely seems like a nice change of scenery set in the same universe. I just know that the first episodes will likely suck (for me), because I hate the forced "look, everything is good, what could go wrong???" settings. But once shit breaks lose... oh yeah!

I wonder if they plan to eventually merge this with TWD.

So unrealistic. There is no way his wife gives him that much credit for fixing a goddamned sink.

here's my prediction without seeing anything:

the first season is semi meandering with enough character development for us to have to want to watch the beginning of season 2 to solve the cliff hanger they leave off on. They'll also use the majority of zombie jumps and gags that you've probably seen in TWD already.

don't get me wrong, i hope it's good but i have many doubts and this seems like a desperate off-season filler since amc can't get any other series to stick.

I heard that it's gonna have more drama and less action than TWD, so fingers crossed it's good. It's weird seeing so many locations I recognize in the trailer lol.

It was okay. It didn't really pick up until the last 10 minutes though.

Which is a shame because Masters of Sex and Halt and Catch Fire are both excellent shows.

Masters of Sex is Showtime. Great show though.

Series opener was definitely not as compelling as the original pilot. I'm all for the premise, but the characters are all kind of meh so far. I'll keep watching.

I wasn't feeling this. I guess I found all characters lame. Felt like an odd version of Dawson's creek or seventh heaven.

Honestly the last 30 minutes was better than any episode in walking dead history IMO.

I really like Cliff Curtis, so I'm hoping his character lasts long enough to become a bad ass.

Disappointing first episode - I'd echo the Dawson's Creek sentiment above. Still, I'll persevere.

I thought it was a very well done pilot. It didn't just cop out and cash in on the zombie mania like it could have, it took its time to build up the tension and characters to give it its own unique vibe. Some will complain it didn't give them what they wanted and was boring, but I'm all about the slow burn. If it did cave to that public pressure of constant action right off the bat, we'd all become bored very quickly.

Thought it was kinda meh as well. A lot of exposition for just six episodes.

I'm not following... are you confused about how someone who gets shot turns into a zombie in TWD universe? Or are you just bothered that the writers chose to do that?
