Thank god. I liked the movie but that twist with John Connor makes it at the bottom of the list.

Let's list some positives about TERMINATOR 3...

First, yes, that's right 3. The next Terminator movie will ignore Rise Of The Machines, Salvation, and Genisys.

    Second, Linda Hamilton is returning.

Third, Tim Miller, the director of Deadpool, will be in the director's chair.

Fourth, we got a release date... July 26th, 2019

I AM excited about this new movie for a few of the facts that you pointed out (most notably, Linda Hamilton returning, Schwarzenegger and Cameron's involvement, Tim Miller directing), but there was (unfortunately) already a Terminator 3. Yet another movie we're (rightfully so) going to pretend never happened. While I DID mostly enjoy Salvation (and was pleased with the inclusion of Linda Hamilton's voice and Arnold's – albeit CGI – face making an appearance), this franchise has always deserved better after the unmistakably genius genre-defining and revolutionary movie that was T2. Let's hope they get it right this time. Cameron's involvement gives me the most hope.

Maybe we can get the title of the thread changed to 'Terminator Series' or something?

Gabriel Luna is the lead in the 6th Terminator movie.

So I’m pretty damn excited about a new Terminator film in the works. T2 is my favorite movie of all time and I even had it permanently inked into my skin.

Is it a controversial opinion to say I still think the first Terminator was the best and better than T2? I think it's a perfect film, and loved the noir feel to it whereas although I still love T2 i tend to zone out a bit after the psychiatric unit break out and didn't really love the Arnie trying to be human side of it

Not at all. While I still prefer T2, Terminator is still a classic. Honestly, I'd rather believe that those are the only two films in the franchise that exists.

i think of terminator & T-2 similarly to alien & aliens - the first is a horror movie with sci-fi elements, and the second is a perfectly crafted action film with a solid heart. they each make the other better by existing & being different.

Could we get this thread renamed perhaps to just 'Terminator Series' or something?

    LOL awesome haha.

edit: This one's apparently just called 'Terminator' and disregards all films after T2, so maybe this one?

@Nellyrific had the exact same thought when I saw that picture. Had to do a doubletake because I thought it was some young, unknown at first.

Is Mackenzie Davis going to be in every belated sequel to a sci-fi classic? If so, I'm game. <3

Nice to see they've got a new logo that feels like a natural progression/evolution of the font used in T2 with some nice ligatures being used, too. Hopefully this trailer follows suit in that it respects the movies that started the franchise, but isn't interested in just rehashing the iconic moments and quotable lines from the successful entries (T1 & T2). I do not want to hear "I'll be back" or "Come with me if you want to live" again in this movie. Genisys did that to death. Make a new moment or write a new line that people will want to quote and stop cannibalizing the classics for nostalgia's sake.

I just want a good film honestly. Not T2 levels of excellent (though it would be nice), just a solid enjoyable action movie that follows T2 and removes the headache timeline shinanigans from the last few.

It's a shame that the ending to T3: Rise Of The Machines was wasted on Rise Of The Machines.

Two passes at the story and two passes at the screenplay if you really want to break it down. Could go either way.

Mountains in the background are the same ones she drove towards at the end of the first film too...sort of a cool throwback.
