Rambo needs to die in this one ,finish the story the way it was suppose to end in the first one !
Even though, I feel like the series ended so perfectly with Rambo. I am looking forward to this, but I am afraid its going to end up being a mistake. I hope they ditched the long lost child who got kidnapped by mexicans story line.
Any chance it's gonna be more like first movie, and less like the rest ones which all were godawful?
The third one is really the only one that was terrible, the second was just ok, but the first and fourth were both awesome. I thought the way the fourth ended was a great way to end the series, little iffy about how they can make another one work.
Please remind me, is the character in Rambo movies the same, is Sly playing still the same person? Hope you understand...
Yeah he's playing the same character in all the movies
Except that he goes from special forces soldier with PTSD who takes out a small town's police force, to an unstoppable killing machine. Consider this helpful chart:
Meh.
I remember an interview from somewhere where Stallone said he maybe should've made the 2008 Rambo PG-13 because it could've made more money. So...PG-13 Rambo. If the next one goes there, then thats, ummm...yeah.
The 2008 film is one of THE VERY BEST of the entire series. Definitely looking forward to this!
:D
Of course, that's because you consider First Blood to be apart from the serie, as a superior, morally ambiguous and intelligent movie, right ?
...
RIGHT ????
first blood came on when i was in this shitty small town jail last year.
i started getting ideas.
I agree that fourth installment was freaking awesome.
Hopefully, it continues in the same direction.
Nope.
Don't me wrong, I absolutely adore the first film...but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the others for what they are or that I need to lob insults at them to enjoy it. But HEY, whatever makes you feel all high and mighty.
Anyway...
I bought my folks a Blu-Ray player for Christmas and picked up a bunch of BDs for it a couple days ago, one of which happened to be Rambo (2008), the Unrated & Extended edition.
Didn't even know that existed till I happened upon it at Best Buy!
I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but I did check out the production diary bonus feature (been waiting YEARS to finally see ANY bonus features for it, ffs!), and it was was fully worth the 8 bucks alone. Can't wait to get to the rest and compare it to the theatrical cut!
Also, on the subject of its sequel and the film that started it all, I'd just like to add that Rambo: Last Blood is a great fucking title.
:)
To confirm, this storyline is:
"Rambo teams up with a journalist to track down and rescue a group of local girls that have been kidnapped by a Mexican sex trafficking ring, after trying to settle down to a quiet peaceful life stateside at the family ranch in Arizona after spending decades abroad."
I personally think they should've gone with the fan written plot:
"Rambo is brought in to help a small town sheriff after a former military guy goes postal."
So they're making a rip off of Taken with Rambo?
When my father told me the plot f this one, I asked him if Liam Neeson was going to be in it. Pretty lame if you ask me. Should've ended with the 4th BUT...
It is my understanding that the studio was fully prepared to continue making these if Sly didn't sign on and he only agreed to this one so that he could kill off the character to end the series. Not sure of the validity of this (it's according to my father who is the biggest Rambo nerd).
