New Silver Mt. Zion EP! Re-working of an older song...into DANCE MUSIC!? It sounds insane and awesome.

Wow. We're suddenly in an alternate universe where A Silver Mt. Zion make house music...and it still rocks.
Yes! Heard the new music live and from what I can remember it's pretty danged heavy. So stoked on this.
Can't wait to hear a proper version of Behemoth. The live recordings just don't cut it.
Wow. This is excellent on first listen.
Couldn't give 2 shits about "Lambs' Breath" or "Asunder, Sweet" as they are just filler for me...but the opener and closer are fantastic.
I dig the dronier stuff. It's basically one long song broken up into movements. The closer is amazing though.
Yeah, Piss Crowns at like almost 6 minutes in gave me goosebumps. I always dig their stuff so I'm sure I'll consistently revisit this.
It didn't hold my attention as immediately as their last album, but it reminds me more of their older stuff and I really like that. The idea that they returned to one long song in movements is nice.
in case anyone in the US is looking to pre-order, the mylene sheath has it for $19.99.
This was uploaded a year ago, but I just found it today. It's a rare pro-shot video of the band performing three tracks (Peasantry or ‘Light! Inside of Light!’, a track I'm not familiar with, and The Sad Mafioso portion of East Hastings).
New tour!!!! So excited to finally being able to see them live and in my city! No one EVER comes to Memphis anymore...

Not really "news" anymore, but a new album has been announced; Luciferian Towers.

I wonder if it'll follow the two song / two drone pattern of the last two LP!?
Apparently, only the Bandcamp version is split up over 8 tracks. I have yet to check if "Bosses Hang" and "Anthem For No State" are indexed by movement on the CD. For those wondering, the vinyl comes with a download card.
EDIT: various online outlets, including iTunes, also have the album split over 8 tracks

I can't really argue with the critical reviews I've seen giving it 2-3 stars, I myself would rate it 3/5. "Anthem For No State" is the clear standout. There are two problems I've having with this album:
1). The songs only seem partly fleshed out. My favorite post-rock is something like a rollercoaster or a psychedelic trip, if I may. All four tracks presented here only build and build, until they just end with about 10 seconds to spare in the track. There are no emotional crescendos, no repetitive "interludes" building to another high, nothing. This release reminds me more of an instrumental jam album than post-rock. Most of these songs feel like something you'd start hearing 5-8 minutes into a fully-realized GY!BE track (with the exception of "Anthem For No State").
2). This sounds like a live recording of a bunch of people in a room (in a cluttered way). I can understand the choice given how I described the album above, but the drums/percussion are buried 3/4 of the time. It's very noticeable.
Album is amazing. If anyone saw them on the 2015 tour...the "new song" later titled "Buildings" by fans is in fact "Bosses Hang". So glad this showed up on the record as it was amazing live and left an itch ever since hearing it.
Here is the live version from that tour:
Finally got around to listening to Luciferian Towers. If I'm being honest, it's probably my least favorite Godspeed release. It didn't quite grab me the way that the previous post-hiatus albums did. That said, it's still Godspeed, and it's still awesome.
I like it a lot. I especially like the first and last songs. It's more of a noise/psychedelic thing, than the epic crescendo thing we normally associate them with. That's ok.
If we're comparing to modern Godspeed, I can't say I like it as much as the last album but I like it quite a lot more than the album before that. There are some new ideas here that are really nice
I love the new album. It's probably my favorite of the 3 they've done since coming out of hiatus, though Mladic is my favorite "track".
