NIN, DM, Kraftwerk, B.I.G., T. Rex. Honestly surprised T.Rex and DM aren't already in.

Vote early and vote often! My daily vote will be NIN, DM, SG, TL and BIG.

I think NIN is a lock since Trent was involved in last year's ceremony, so it wouldn't matter.

I'm not trying to be one of these rock purists about the HOF, but I truly believe there are way more classic rock bands (hard rock and metal especially) who need to be in and that list has some of them.

Someone posted who gets inducted in every ‘group’ and said that it would be just Trent, bit harsh on Atticus and indeed, Robin Finck !

Harsh? Or just plain objective. Cold, clinical, and scientific.

I can't speak to the HOF criteria, but I can plainly recall the first time I read the liner notes inside my PHM cassette back in 1991 and learned that "Nine Inch Nails is Trent Reznor." Pretty unambiguous there.

I think this is a strange requirement too. Also is the the third time they've been nominated? this has to be it.

I definitely see both sides. He was only made an official member of the "band" within the last couple years - if my timeline memory is correct, NIN was already being nominated for the hall before this happened. However, he was also an absolutely crucial contributor dating back with the With Teeth era, whether the legal side of things listed him as a "band member" or not.

If / when NIN gets in, I hope there is at least some acknowledgement of AR's involvement in shaping the sound of the albums for the last ~15 years.

The whole entire (current) live band certainly deserves to be inducted, but I doubt they will be and I certainly don't think they'll perform at the ceremony. That has "Grammy Awards clusterfuck, part deux" written all over it.

Robert Smith apparently gave an ultimatum that the band wouldn't show up if Reeves wasn't also inducted. Not sure if Trent would do the same regarding Atticus. He might've only been an official member for a few years, but he's been involved with more NIN albums than he hasn't at this point. That's pretty significant.

This has to be Trents year right? I mean he has had so much influence on the industry now it would be a crying shame to not get in 3rd time asking (The consistent level of NIN's output, the outstanding score work and awards, songs that use or cover his work being MASSIVE in the charts) I know NONE of that should be a given to get in...but come on!

Have the Smashing Pumpkins been nominated yet? It seems ridiculous to me to nominate Dave Matthews Band but not the Pumpkins, and I’m not even a big fan

Billy got to induct Pink Floyd and played "Wish You Were Here" with them at the ceremony, no big deal or anything.

So who will induct Trent when he inevitably gets in next year? Robert Smith, or is that too much of an obvious tit-for-tat?

Gary Numan would be very fitting, since they are good friends and mutual influences. David Grohl seems like another option, being a household name and having played drums multiple times for him. I would love to see it be Saul Williams but maybe he isn't establishment enough? St. Vincent could be another option since she is well-known and has remarked on Trent's influence on her music. Marilyn Manson would be weird given their on again, off again friendship, but I suppose a possibility. Maynard James Keenan? Tori Amos? Now I am reaching.

I think Gary Numan would be great.

We are getting ahead of ourselves though. I feel pretty cynical about HoF actually selecting Mr. Reznor. We shall see.

Gary Numan was my pick the last time we discussed that. Another possibility might be Dave Navarro.

I hope NIN will get in, if not I hope AT LEAST Judas Priest or Depeche Mode.

The fact Judas Priest isn't in there yet is a joke.

    I'm surprised they're not within the top 5, but I guess I shouldn't be.
