    Shitty Music. (The Nickelback Thread)

That song that sings about this animal makes this sound and that sound. Know what I'm talking about? Hate it.

what does the fox say? yeah, it's pretty bad. however, the animal costumes are pretty cute (i say that as someone who is in no way a furry. i just think animal costumes are cute)

    Ghost B.C.

Super gimmicky and average at best. Kinda underwhelming and mediocre. Bland too.

    I tried.

I think this is why I like them. They sort of remind me of 70's hard rock, a little Sabbath, lots of Blue Oyster Cult. The gimmick is fine, everytime I show people the picture of these guys, they think it's some Swedish Death Metal band and they're far from it. I think they write legitimate good songs and their album is probably in my top 25 for the year.

For someone who's lived through Slipknot, Sunn0))), black metal, and knows who The Misfits are, Ghost's look is pure cliche'.
What I've heard of their music seems to me generic 70s hard (soft) rock which does not even do justice to their image.
These guys should be playing the most raging crazy satanic black metal around. Instead they sound like some tepid retro crap. Well done chaps.

If anything, Douchebag Durst went country.

Looks like Miley isn't the only one pining for a new image.

As if some karmic payback, I just heard 3 kings of Leon songs in the past 20 minutes at the bar. I'm about to break my bottle and stab my face with it. Oh, Old Merl just came on to wash the shit from my ears.

I saw the new Rhianna video earlier today. That was disgusting. She's a beautiful woman but what the fuck? The song was bad enough but the video was just bad softcore porn.

God I hate these shitty generic hipster bullshit bands that randomly stick a synth arpeggio into a song because they want it to sound 80's or something. "I KNOW we're 'neo-folk', but I want one of those things Depeche Mode used!"

Wouldn't it be funny to just post Nickelback news and videos here too? I obviously say that loosely. I don't blame people for going crazy over it now that I've thought of it further. It's sometimes VERY easy to get shit you don't like stuck in your mind, which helped me get a further understanding on it.

That seriously has to suck even more than the fact you hate it. 6 years in and Rockstar is still stuck in my mind, and I don't even listen to them. (I heard it late, as I don't follow Nickelback.)

It's even more hilarious because Kroeger looks like a primped poodle. I doubt he's ever done hard drugs, he probably drinks socially and is eating quite well I'm sure. He's a fucking nerd. They're the epitome of rock and roll cliche of the 2000's.

Which is exactly why the irony of the song and video is just way over the top for me. I get that it's tongue in cheek though, but it's sort of like bashing the mainstream while being in the mainstream, especially if they've intended to actually diss anything. That's what makes it cringe-worthy to me. (That is unless they just did it as a joke as shown in the video, and yes, before anybody says it, some of you might be already thinking, "But they are a joke either way.") Not that I'm arguing, but I could just sense it for very obvious reasons.
