I'm impressed that with this one they are allowing youtube comments, considering this might be the worst (read: best) song yet from this chuckleheads.

Ok, I understand that this is a sensitive subject (plus it's top 40 pop, which a lot of folks here don't seem to care for but I like a lot of pop myself) but I really hate the newer Kesha stuff. I think it's great that she was able to pull away from that shithead Dr. Luke and make music that she truly felt reflected her experiences and tastes. I think that's what she should absolutely continue to do and I'm glad for her. But "Praying" makes me cringe. I feel like it's a TERRIBLE song and I understood the heart behind it but holy shit, it's just awful. And folks were falling all over themselves to prop up that song as an empowering survivor's anthem, but it was aggressively bad.

Early Kesha obviously had few creative merits, but it was fun and trashy and catchy. I enjoyed it in certain circumstances. But I don't enjoy anything about "Praying" and when I heard it in a store today I wanted to put my face through a window.

It is in a lot of pophead circles. You aren't allowed to do anything other than praise "Praying" because of the situation it emerged from. Which I would agree is important to discuss, but her being a victim doesn't make the music better.

“praying” should not have been released as a single, but i thought the album was fantastic.

Yeah that is really terrible. Like embarrassingly bad. It would have sucked back in 1998 just as hard.

Got ya. I had zero clue what you were referring to so I googled- thought you were referring only to the music.

I just briefed myself on it so will leave it at that.

i heard a song by some guy named Sam Fender or something on the radio today (i was on a jobsite and had no control over the music) that sounded like if the killers were even more unbearable (his voice was very similar to brandon flowers but without any of the bravado) and used the same bullshit political posturing as bono. THEN they played a newer coldplay song which was...really bad...just so bad.

and then they played the siouxsie cover of "dear prudence" which i adore, so i guess it made up for the previous two songs?

Jesus, that's a lot to unpack. With stage clothes I feel like you really need to commit or let it go. His weird fucking robe and unenthusiastic vocals with lackluster, theatrical hand-wavings are the highlights for me. This says nothing of the rest of the band who also look like total assholes up there for innumerable reasons. But, good for them getting that money I guess.

So, was that The Greatest Hit Of Disturbed video a parody of this one song? Or are they really all the same?

Not only was that video a parody of multiple songs, each song parodied is a note for note version of the original with only the words changed. The melody is kept intact as well. That's how similar their songs are.

I don't know what it is but I love the torture of sitting through this. It's so bad and knowing about the band and seeing all of their previous released videos... I love to hate this music. Thank you for the lulzz

I still think Ten Thousand Fists is a fantastic album, but yeah, just about everything else has been passable at best... and wow, the above video is just embarrassing.

So...Sully obviously wrote that entire thing right? It's alarming similar to Awake:

Criss Angel is such a chode. Him & Depp can't just be happy in their actual professions. They desperately want to be taken seriously as rock stars too....which is extra funny bc the genres of rock they play around in are dying/dead.

I guess this happens everywhere though...how many bball players desperately want to be rappers and vice versa?

You need to listen to more music. Clout chaser, dick rider, yes... but not even close to the most boring musician. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy Houston and Toronto Drake.

Feels good to share this after reading David Draiman shredding Roger Waters in an interview recently. I can picture even the conservative MAGA-types who left Waters' shows being unable to back up the guy who mangled "The Sound Of Silence".

In a vacuum, the song might not be that bad, sans the lyrics. The video, however, really sends it over the edge into cringe territory.

What is this supposed to be? A rap group being metal or a metal group being rap? Regardless it’s bullshit.
