Me too! Last winter, six of my friends and I started playing Dark Souls III together and we got super into it. It was seriously the best game to get into during the winter months of the pandemic. Some combination of us played pretty much every night for like 2 and a half months straight. We're all super pumped to play Elden Ring, only problem is that only 3 of us have a PS5 so far.

I pasted the wrong link lol, it should be there now .

If you like Japanese lore and pretty satisfying combat and story, you should play it; especially if it's the PS5 version.

I've had a couple people tell me Ghost of Tsushima might be the best game they've ever played. So far I like it but I'm not too deep in. It's definitely... cinematic. The combat so far is basic but pretty great and satisfying.

I'm pretty sure this is the future of consoles.

I've also got a bad feeling that Nintendo, the "happy fun company" that's quietly horrifically ruthless and cutthroat, will be late in adopting it, and will only do so begrudgingly.

They're already part of the way there, you can subscribe to get access to NES, SNES, N64 and Sega Genesis games.

Nintendo’s back library sub thing is on every design level way better than Sony’s. Sony has been screwing EVERYTHING up when it comes to having an available backlog. Sure the whole collection of PS4 games for ps5 players would have been great, if you dorks made it possible for casual gamers to buy one. I bought a ps5 from a scalper… but I tried for MONTHS to just get it the normal way. After the money I spent, whoopty do to your free offer of an old game library I’ve already mostly played

I feel you, but a lot of us have THOSE libraries.

If they did Switch and Wii U and 3DS though? Shiiiiiiit.

Hopefully it's coming. Pray to Nintendo Jesus.

Unless you’re a huge retro collector or have the means technology wise (HDTVs are hell for those older consoles), outside emulators you’re not gonna easily play those these days.

Definitely get it. I played it on release on PS4 and again with the director's cut for PS5. Loved every second of it.

I actually got it later that day that I posted this haha. I like it a lot! Still getting into the story and familiarizing myself with the combat controls - I flip flop between thinking it’s a beautiful game but also feeling like some of the graphics look a tiny bit dated in it. Overall, I like it and I only paid 35$ for the directors cut

Edit: you said "outside emulators," and I somehow missed that, so this is a whole different reply.

    SO.
I'm big into Chinese handhelds running custom firmware, and, honestly, the ones we have run the old Nintendo games quite a bit BETTER (higher frame rates, local WiFi co-op, achievements) than they ran back in the day, among a LOT of other things, although they DON'T run 3DS and such.

So, peep this: mostly I just wanna play Nintendo. One of my best friends bought me a XBOX whatever it's called, and the top notch game pass about a year ago, and fuck sake, the number of games available is unreal.

I just wanna see Nintendo do the same thing, is all...like, the game pass thing. Instead, they're charging like...i can't remember, but MORE THAN IT'S WORTH, to add two player functionality to a few dozen nes/snes games, on your switch, when anyone willing to download a couple emulators to a flagship phone has access to damn near perfect versions of the entire libraries of those games.

I'd like to.have an option to subscribe to Wii U at LEAST.
I honestly think they're ALL gonna have to do it before long: add a big ass library for a reasonable price, I mean.

Sony just nonchalantly buys Bungie, and I'm all here for it. Deal apparently was in the works for months, but this can only boost the technical side of things after Bungie parting ways with Activision. Very excited to see that they come up with.

Sony says to look out for more acquisitions in the near future.

It's only the most expensive tier that has any of the back catalogue stuff right? (and by back catalogue i don't mean PS4)

Ugh..... fucking Sony. Here's a thought, ditch the tier in the middle and lower the price of Premium to match it.

You either pay for just the multiplayer access and a couple monthly games with cloud saves OR you pay $40 more per year for everything else and get the back catalogue.

And of course they had to add PC as one of the streaming options for Premium.

Netflix goes up $24 for a year
Prime goes up $21 for a year
    PS+ Premium wants $60 more a year?

There is an exploit where you can stack a PS Now subscription (All the way up to 2031) that will carry over to the new premium and will save you a lot of money before the new PS+ is implemented.
