According to Bluray.com Criterion is working on these. I heard rumors about Moonrise Kingdom months ago, and Boyhood is being put out by either IFC or Sundance and Criterion has deals with both. Bluray.com is usually right about these so...

    • Hard Eight
    • The Grand Budapest Hotel
    • Moonrise Kingdom
    • Permanent Vacation (Re-Release)
    • Stranger Than Paradise (Re-Release)
    • Boyhood

This article suggests Moonrise Kingdom will be announced shortly. I've also heard some strong rumors that Roeg's Don't Look Now is being worked on by Criterion.

I'd love to see Hard Eight get a release. Not PTA's best, but a very strong debut feature.

Hard Eight should get a Criterion release as I think it's one of the finest debut films ever made and maybe it would be released in its original title, Sydney.

BTW, does anyone have any idea what this image mean for what film? I have no idea and the people at the Criterion forum seem unsure:

That sucks. I know I don't own a Blu-Ray player but the dual-format thing I thought was an excellent idea.

I finally landed a copy of Criterion's Godzilla from a while back, after looking for it on amazon 3 weeks ago, and seeing it was bumped up to near $50. Checked again the next week, it was still $40 or something, then the other day it was somehow down to $16, sooo I took advantage.

That really sucks about the formats, though. That's part of the draw that makes me want to buy movies at all anymore.

I screamed with glee over Eraserhead. That's a Xmas present as is Macbeth which I haven't seen since high school.

So I'm the only one excited about The Innocents then?

And Picnic at Hanging Rock arrived yesterday. What a glorious day that was.

Now I just need "Mulholland Drive" and for them to finish out their Kurosawa HD situation.... They're such slow rollers... they could have so much of my money right now if they really wanted it.

And Lost Highway too hopefully. Those would be the two Lynch films I'd want to get on Blu, Criterion or not really. What's weird about Eraserhead is that there is no booklet that almost every Criterion comes with. I've read that in the past the company has had a shaky relationship with David (apparently an Eraserhead disc was almost in the works over a decade ago). Hopefully that's all been resolved so future releases like those two can come.

I just hope the re-release of Time Bandits will allow the reissues of the other films from the Handmade Pictures company that includes Monty Python's Life of Brian, Withnail & I, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, The Long Good Friday, and Mona Lisa. I'm stoked about the possibility of Mulholland Dr. although I'm not sure about La Dolce Vita since I already have the 3-disc box set from Koch Lorber and don't plan on selling it anytime soon.

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Reznor2112! I got the official email about the sale just this morning.

I am definitely picking up Thief. Been on a Michael Mann kick lately, and I've never seen it! Very excited. Since I can only afford to buy 2 blu-rays in one go, I am debating whether to make my 2nd purchase The Game, Videodrome, or The Thin Red Line. (I still haven't seen Thin Red Line! I'm embarrassed)

Any tips as to which of those is the best or has the most value? Kinda leaning towards The Game because I am a Fincher junkie and have never heard that commentary.

Last Monday, I got A Hard Day's Night, King of the Hill, and Heaven's Gate. I might get one more as I'm kind of tight on cash these days.
