Bad news, indeed. But I feel like with the way this season is going, it will be an apt end. Especially if anyone from S2 shows up in the finale.

It's not too entirely surprising. On top of Legion, Noah Hawley also has two movies in development with Fox Searchlight.

Landed the ending, best of the three seasons for me.

I read that there wasn't mention of it being the last season, but rather that it'd be a long wait (approx 3 years) before Season 4.

Hawley specifically said in an interview with Alan Sepinwall that he isn't sure what else he could say in this world. Wasn't ruling out another season, just sounds like he doesn't have any specific ideas at the moment.

Gonna have to rewatch all the seasons if this is about the oft-referenced Kansas City mob, as I remember nothing about this.

Noah Hawley is what Nic Pizzolato failed to become: a consistently good writer (and occasional director). Prove me wrong, True Detective season 3.

i love Chris Rock, and Schwartzman.
I must admit, though, that i am confused as to whether or not Noah Hawley is always the showrunner. Like, it would certainly seem that he is, as the tone and quality don't really change, BUT, i can't seen to find a definitive answer. I know that he is, this year, though.

At ANY rate, i think that Fargo is a SHINING example of the current tv golden age/renaissance to which we've been treated over the past several years, and, as i said before, i totally thought it was over for good. i could've sworn that i read that that was the case; that the third season was the last.

this was me, referring to the last season. i guess i shouldn't believe everything i read on the internet.
but, why would something that isn't true BE on the internets?

This breaks my heart because I think this show has moved into my top 3 of all time.
apparently, i should have kept up with this thread, BUT, i'm also glad i didn't, as, this was a BIG fucking surprise for me

Season's very good so far but not with a lot of buzz. Perhaps the stink of Hawley's movie won't wash away so easily.

Maybe not alot of buzz, but I know something like 7 or 8 people that are watching and loving it, as am I. Last episode final scene was shocking. "Fargo" indeed, I guess.

I get strong Boardwalk Empire vibes from this season. And while Schwartzman's character being the head of a crime family is completely unbelievable under normal circumstances, the quirkiness factor of Fargo kinda gives stuff like that a pass. Chris Rock has been good too, which isn't always the case when it comes to his acting.

Pretty excited for this. Aside from Season 3, I've really enjoyed the show.

What made Season 3 worse than Season 4 for you if I may ask?

I didn't find the story to be as consistent as the first two seasons. I think it suffered because Noah Hawley was working on Legion as well at the time. I liked the cast a lot, but I just found it incredibly underwhelming. I felt Season 4 was stronger overall. Still not on par with the first two seasons, but I liked it more.

I'm not sure anything will ever be up to par with Fargo Season 2 in this guy's career again tbh haha. A perfect season of television in my books(Season 1 was PHENOMENAL too-somehow on par/better than a modern day classic film)

I thought 4 was awful, I bounced off of it. I was so looking forward to seeing Chris Rock nail it. 3 wasn't as bad IMO. I'll watch anything with Jon Hamm.

    Since we're playing:

    Loved 1
Liked 2 a lot but remember bumping on some of the later choices (would probably love it on rewatch)
Liked 3 just fine but agree it felt like a dip overall; I remember not being super compelled by most of the storylines
    Loved 4
