I expected to come in here seeing everyone happy..didn't expect to end up being one of so few lucky to get great seats. I got 103 row A, just a little right of center. Needless to say...my wife and I are pretty happy with that, and I guess that proves the "pit" row was being sold.
Sorry to hear so many of you got hosed.
Tinley security tends to be really strict about people trying to climb closer to the stage from their original row. I've seen many people ejected in the past 15 years. So..Just be wary of that..don't go getting yourselves kicked out over a couple rows.
You get a pretty decent view from nearly anywhere in the seats. Lawn here...kind of awful if you really want to watch, but it's fun for going with a group to hang out just enjoy hearing the music. Having the 15 min early entry will definitely help lawn people out for getting a decent spot to still see stage.
I'd also like to point out that as far as I'm aware, The World/Tweeter/First Midwest Bank Amphitheater (whatever the hell you want to call it) has never had a traditional "pit". Front row seats is front row seats. I've been here many times since the year it opened (as The World) in many different sections, including skybox seats (I highly recommend... worth it for the exclusive bathrooms and beer maids) and I've never seen a general admin in front of the seated ticket holders. Not to say it doesn't happen, but if it does.. I've never seen it.
