only fill in drummer that would be remotely close to acceptable is josh freese
I am too lazy to find the link I saw last week, but iTunes Festival is a one off for Matt Cameron. They still have a fill-in doing their summer dates.

I'd be surprised if TR revisited TDS in full. He's been there/done that, and people can see a full concert of it on the Web (and he's talked about giving people something fresh with each leg, because of that "Net effect").
Interesting given that when the whole relaunch news dropped last year they talked about revamped setlists and altered song structures....and the net result has been basically the same songs we've seen time and time again for several years with hesitation marks tracks sprinkled in.

    NIN/ Soundgarden /Death Grips
Aug 5 - Farm Bureau Live @ Virginia Beach, VA
    Ticket prices: $38.50 - $117.30

*edit - listing already gone. It mentioned something about a Soundgarden Fan Club presale but no word on when.

also billed as "Nine Inch Nails | Soundgarden" so this looks to be a co-headline tour, if that was ever a question.

Listing still visible here, for now:

And now Death Grips? Wow. Soundgarden + NIN + Death Grips. This is probably a dream...too good to be true.

Well, to each his own, I guess. Death Grips is awful, in my opinion. (Not as awful as Cold Cave tho).

Death Grips are an acquired taste, but are easily, without a doubt, the most original and inventive "hip hop" act, if you can even call them that, in quite some time.

I happen to love both acts.

So there goes any sense to this not going to be NIN headlining. Co-headlining tour, I'm guessing we get 90 minute sets by both Soundgarden and NIN.

NIN and QotSA have got 80 minute sets each on the tour they're doing now.

Deathgrips are great, but dont care about soundgarden. Plus we are probably going to get a shorter nin set.

I dont know about this tour. If the tickets are not 100$ maybe I will go.

Death Grips would be AWESOME as an opener, but yeah August is a long ways away, I'd be very surprised if they show up to all their scheduled dates.

I would imagine that they were locked in very very tightly to their contract upon joining the tour.

NiN/Soundgarden/Death Grips is pretty much a personal cream dream. Saw DG play at Bonnaroo and it was a goddamn slaughter. Yall are in for a treat.

Fuck those dudes. Their "music" is complete nonsense, i don't buy the controversy surrounding their leaks/major label drama for a second (it's all staged imo), & the lack of respect for their fans is disgusting. I'm actually surprised Trent would want to bring out a bunch of clowns that purposefully shit on their fans like this, considering the level of respect Trent has shown towards the fans since 2005. That shit is just unlistenable to me too.

I’m not familiar with Death Grips’ reputation, just the music. That’s enough for me to like the idea.

So, we're approaching Friday the 14th (The supposive on sale date for these tickets) with no official announcement yet.
Anyone else get the feeling they are scrapping the nin.com fan pre-sale for this tour, or do you think the on sale date is being pushed back a week to the 21st now to accomodate an official announcement and a pre-sale?

Something's either coming today and if not, next week.

I can't see Trent scrapping the pre-sale, since the reason behind it is to help keep the tickets in fans' hands, and help prevent absurd scalping.

Trent and Soundgarden doing a song together would be pretty sweet. A duet on "Slaves and Bulldozers" please.

It has obviously been pushed back. There is no way they would announce dates and then 2 dates later they go on sale. No band does this.
They are probably doing last minute changes, adding cities/venues (fingers crossed for a NC date) so lets all be patient.
