Hell yes!! Thank you so much; it's awesome to hear all of this -- I lucked out and got to see him perform some of AVANTI right down the street from me in Boston a couple of months ago, and it was an incredible experience, so I can't wait for this record. It was my first time ever seeing him live, too (well, solo), and the old home videos he was playing made for a very interesting and moving show. Plus, I'm always down for new SONOIO! I get that he doesn't feel as fulfilled by SONOIO as an outlet, but it's strange he's been sitting on it for so long. (Did we ever decide which color it was gonna be, anyway?)

Also, a guitar-based album from him sounds awesome.

I'd love to get the 7" but really can't justify spending $36 incl shipping to the UK for a 7"

Seriously, this is amazing. Judging by those first two tracks, I'm pretty positive that AVANTI is going to be my personal favorite by Alessandro. Melancholic, dreamy, nostalgic, sad, happy – this is kind of everything.

Could someone help me with a SONOIO question...

The BLUE and RED Demos, were these available in lossless WAV/FLAC or MP3???

I own both albums and remix releases in FLAC and been trying to find the the BLUE and RED demos in FLAC as well. If they were made available in lossless, could a kind soul here help me in obtaining those? Sadly only have the demos in MP3, unless that is all there is.

    Your help will be appreciated.

The official site only offers Blue demos in mp3 for $3, I think that must be all there is for that. My email from the order back then only lists Blue demos mp3, along with the links to normal Blue in lossless.

Red demos in FLAC (corrected). I don't think you could ever buy them on their own, only were available as a preorder bonus.

Edit: fuck, sorry. The correct file is there now. The original zip I downloaded from the order back then said "demos", even though the demos were in a different zip.

Hey appreciate the help, but that link is to the regular album Red in FLAC, not the demos.

Shame about the Blue demos only being MP3, will set my OCD off lol

I bought the vinyl right away.

the two tracks I've heard off AVANTI are beautiful. I might pick this up on wax, although I can't afford to track all of Alessandro's output on wax, in time, space or money, wish I could!

Hey @Zipfinator or @ItsJustDave , would you consider renaming the thread to be clearly about more than Sonoio? Thanks!

I wish Alessandro would release the third Sonoio album. Sonoio is definitely his strongest work.

I can't justify subscribing to a magazine for one track.

What is that final piece from in the Tascam interview? The part that starts at around 3.07 and runs to the end. Bits of it sound like Great Below, but I don't recognise it overall...

I'm pretty sure that's from the final section of Copy of A.

edit: Here's a live version where Alessandro's part is quite high in the mix:

That gaming article is a bit fast and loose with the chronology. Paying for Amiga games with euros in the 80s? Resident evil 2 and half life 2 coming out at the same time?

Alessandro just announced a few things on a Facebook Q&A:

-A new Sonoio album is "mixed and ready to go" for a likely release in 2018. No touring for it. ("I can safely say there will never be another SONOIO show ever again. It's just not fun to do live.")
-He's working on a "few collaborations with swedish artists I am trying to coordinate".
-"Forse CD box set is a go. We are working on artwork right now. There'll be an extra, live record included."

New Sonoio is all I've been wanting since Thanks For Calling. That release alone has 2018 at full-hype musically for me.
