New track is beautiful. I know it's only been a year since Fine, but I've been chomping at the bit for more Alessandro music.
Alessandro just finished his first performance of Volume Massimo at Berlin Atonal. This album is incredible and I can't wait until it's finally released. It's much more structured than his previous works, sort of an in-between of Sonno/Risveglio and SONOIO with no vocals. I'd even say that some guitar riffs were also very much influenced by NIN and it somehow reminded me of Year Zero and Broken (pretty sure one of the riffs was a nod to Help Me I'm in Hell, but not sure if it was a standalone track or just a transition between the songs). Maybe I'll update again tomorrow, I'm still at the venue. Also, the visuals were great, and I'd say there's a chance that the next single will also have a video
if you can't wait, @TweakerRay has posted videos of yesterday's performance on youtube.
It really doesn't make it justice, though. Feeling the air and the huge industrial building vibrate at the same time (the Kraftwerk is a former power station) it's just an experience one has to witness in person.
The visuals for Volume Massimo are gorgeous too. I just watched the music video for Batticuore and there's just something odd and enchanting about it.
Anyone have word on the bonus track for the Japanese release of Volume Massimo?
That's what I'm hearing...

I haven't been able to find anything documenting exactly what the name of the bonus track is.
According to Alessandro in the comments, the Japanese CD comes in a jewel case, not an eco pack like the US/EU CD, and the bonus track is an alternate version of Sabbia.

Just a reminder that Alessandro is about to do a AMA on reddit

Sonoio seemed to be about channeling some rather unpleasant feelings he was having around the time of the first two albums. (I could be more specific, but I don't want to speculate too much.) I have a feeling he began to move past them or find new motivations while working on the final album, which is probably why there was such a large gap in between Blue/Red and Fine. Anyway, it's totally understandable that having to conjure up those feelings again to finish the last album probably wasn't a fun experience, so I can see why he wants to put it behind him. He sounds like he's proud of the albums, but he's heading in other directions now and is happier for it.
EDIT: Oh yeah! He answered my question too!
I didn't see any promotion for this, but Alessandro & Alain Johannes have done the soundtrack to the new Tom Clancy game... out on download/streaming from today

Still waiting on my cd to arrive in the mail. Can’t wait to play it on a nice pair of headphones.
Just requested a refund from Mute. 2 weeks since the album has come out and it still hasn’t arrived. What’s the point of pre ordering something if it takes this much time? I will never order directly from them again. Waste of my time and money. End rant. I will just order it from some other place.
Yeah I know it’s coming from Europe. I appreciate the heads up But I still am disappointed in their service. I could of ordered it from Amoeba and it be here in 4,5 days. The whole point of why I did it is because every time I have done a pre-order it has arrived on the release date or close to. Plus I do want to support a artist or label directly. I just don’t think this was worth it. Hell, I can drive to Amoeba in SF tomorrow and get it instead.
Does anyone have a lossless rip of Volume Massimo Japan bonus track??? I have Cortini's Ghost Recon score in hi-res FLAC as a thank you for someone that can help a brother out. Also, have hi-res of Volume Massimo.
Anyone at the Brooklyn show tonight?
I’m traveling from Seattle to Portland tomorrow for the show. Should be a good way to spend my birthday. Has anyone seen him on this tour, or know if he has any merch for sale?
Went to the San Diego show two nights ago and it was a quick set, about 40min long in total. Super tiny venue too....
Looks like a seminar
Sonno and Risveglio are getting a repress. 400 copies each
