I'm sorry to hear about Senator McCain. I didn't vote for him, but I respected him. He had class. R.I.P.

I've loved John McCain ever since he did a show on MTV talking to young voters in 96 or so.

He definitely had class. He was a maverick who blazed his own trail.
And I love that the final part of his legacy was being a thorn in the Idiot In Chief's side.
He also spent a lot of his career in bipartisan endeavors.
I think his FINAL message was about the importance of working together.
I kind of see what he represents, at least in that regard, as both what we desperately need, but also, sadly, a dying relic of the past.

Really sad about Jacqueline Pearce. I loved Blake’s 7 more than Dr Who even when I was growing up. My sister actually gave up girl guides because it clashed with Blake’s 7 in the days before video recorders.

Its somewhat painful to learn of someone letting his life fall apart at such a young age. It seems like he really should have tried to get help.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not really blaming anyone for his death. He was battling addiction for years, but the proximity of his fatal overdose to his breakup with Ariana leaves room for people to think there was a causal connection, allowing trolls to put the blame on her. It's still sad that he couldn't make it out of his battle alive at only 26.

Oli Herbert, the guitarist from All That Remains passed away. I saw them like five years ago at the South By So What Festival. They were the headliners. I was on the rail for their set, and the promoters cut it short by like seven songs because they screwed up a lot of things that day. Oli jumped off stage and walked his set list over to me and signed it. He was a really nice guy. RIP

Blake's 7 was great (I would encourage anyone reading who has even a casual interest in dystopian sci-fi to look up the first episode on youtube), and JP was also good in the hammer movies. Definitely one of those people where it's hard to name many others like her

What a legend. Few people had as much impact on popular culture as Stan did. We owe him a lot.
Thank you for igniting my imagination when I was a kid, and for being kind enough to sign my Hungarian copy of Spider-Man when I met you 8 years ago at a con.

RIP Stan Lee. You were responsible for one of the best things about my childhood and now we have a mostly excellent film catalog dedicated to your works.

Thank you for making a sick and different kid feel like he was valuable.

What a tremendous loss. We owe him so much.

RIP mister Lee. "Thank you" isn't enough to express our gratitude.

Part of me just kind of assumed he'd never die. I've bought comics every week for over 25 years now, and he's just always been around.

This is a crazy Mandela moment for me... where not only was I sure that I'd heard the news of him passing away a while ago, but I just checked to find out I was wrong a couple days ago.

Is it for real? I know he's lived a long life, but I've also heard it on fake news sites lots of times. Is he actually gone?

His wife's passing was reported quite heavily when it happened, so maybe it was a "just-glance-at-the-headlines" moment...
