Oh, now be honest, Captain. Warrior to warrior. You do prefer it this way, don't you, as it was meant to be. No peace in our time. "Once more unto the breach, dear friends."

Yup, agreed. A great story with great action action and characters--that's how to make a Star Trek film--so much better than Kelvin movies.

This fucking bites. He was always my favorite Star Trek villain. What a performance. And the man made the concept of having an eyepatch grafted onto your head look fucking cool!

That eyepatch bolted onto the head is friggin' awesome.

He was also fantastic in Dragnet as the creepy scumbag reverend.

    God damn, this one hurts.

Jazz legend Chick Corea dead of a rare form of recently discovered cancer.

    Some bourbon tonight, it seems.

My husband (a big jazz fan) was shocked when I told him the news about Chick Corea.

This is his favorite song by him:

Rupert Neve has passed away... if you know anything about music production, you know that we just lost THE legend in audio engineering design.

the only downside to this that I can really see is that we're now going to have to listen to a bunch of shitheads lionize him. We're going to get Hannity and Tucker choking back tears. We're going to hear him called "important" and "influential" and "legendary."

That was going to happen anyway. Better now than later. Going forward he's not spewing his hateful shit anymore. We're better off without him.

I am reminded of my coworker who was baffled that I was upset he got that medal from Trump. "He's a great guy, he's done a lot for the country."

said coworker has several framed Reagan knickknacks in his 'man cave' and a giant purple Trump flag at his house so...yeah.
