Sucks! I quote the Abe Lincoln skit all the time
Somehow I didn’t see that Jackie Mason died.

Damn. RIP Sonny Chiba.
RIP Lee "Scratch" Perry

Damn, now Ed Asner too. RIP
RIP, Ed and Lee.
I saw Lee live in 2014. I couldn't take my eyes off of him, he was simply legendary. Near the end of the concert, he apparently got pissed at the audience, hid behind the stage and sang from there. I guess he didn't like the Greek crowd...
Greek trapper Mad Clip was killed a few hours ago in a horrible car accident. He was 34. RIP.
EDIT: Also, Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis passed away at the age of 96.

This one hits me hard I just can't believe it. He as well as others brought The Wire to life. It's still is my favorite show that I rewatch The Wire every year just to see his performance. Rest in Peace.
I saw a lot of Community references on Twitter and now I understand why. That was a great character for the show, really played to the oddness there.
It looks like Michael K Williams overdosed on the same substance that killed DMX. Both of the stars unknowingly took fentanyl.
Here's the strange part, that I just remembered after reading a news piece regarding Williams:
A couple months ago, he dressed up as DMX for a tribute at the BET awards, and did lyrics for from Slippin', which I've always taken to be, at least partially, about struggling with addiction.
I've always loved his acting, but I only recently learned that he'd been fighting heroin addiction all along.
Perhaps that's part of why he was asked to participate in the DMX tribute.
DMX's death was caused by a combination of covid, and rock cocaine laced with fentanyl.
Today's news suggests that Williams died from fentanyl laced heroin.
Fuck these street chemists putting fent in EVERY DAMN THING.
In hindsight, this is an eerie, heartbreaking coincidence.
I totally missed this one. A week ago, Marcia Nasatir passed away at age 95. She was Hollywood's first "mogulette", as she was the first female vice president of United Artists. RIP.

Very sad.
Dirty Work is an underrated classic.

That sucks. His Letterman and Dole impressions were the best.
Damn! Sad to hear that he is gone.
