Mira Furlan of Babylon 5 and Lost.

The cast of Babylon 5 seems to be cursed. At least half the cast died before their time.

That's terrible news. Rewatched B5 about a year ago, still one of the best SF shows of all time IMO. RIP Mira.

Watched it about ten years ago--really good show, and it's weird how many cast members are dead.

It all sounds awesome in a dated way that is definitely lost. The music still would have been made though, and in some cases, better. Let it Be (naked) is a weird album. It removes all of Phil Spector's dramatic embellishments and is in general a rawer sounding album. Is it "better" though? I don't know... but is it incredibly different? Not really.
It's pretty well documented that he was mentally ill. Probably started when his father killed himself when Phil was 10. Not making excuses for his behavior but it should be taken into account. As for his musical legacy. just remember: no Phil Spector, no Pet Sounds. Definitely a case of the student surpassing the teacher.

i guess it’s a decent point but we all have to take responsibility for our mental health and how it affects others by a certain age.

RIP Larry King, ubiquitous American TV & radio personality. Was admitted to hospital earlier this month for COVID-19.

The first time I saw her was on Malcom in the Middle. She was so good in that role and everything I saw her in after, but that was the first.

She was SO great as Phyllis on the Mary Tyler Moore show.

    And of course, Frau Blucher.

We should mention that groundbreaking actress Cicely Tyson died Thursday at 96.

    Oh man:

Sophie’s UK label Transgressive added: “True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us.”

I audibly said holy fuck when I read that. I knew it was inevitable but it took him so fast

It's cruel to mention this but one of my favorite SNL skits is when "Dustin Diamond" (Tobey Maguire) appeared on "Inside the Actor's Studio". When Will Ferrell as James Lipton asks him what he'd like to hear at the pearly gates when he dies, he answers "up here, you will be playing the role of Zack".

Dustin Diamond seemed like a troubled guy. R.I.P. Saved By the Bell was a happy memory from childhood--as it it for a lot of people who were kids in the early 90's.

I had only ever seen him in "The Sound of Music" when I watched "Dragnet" so it was a heck of a 180 for me.

Indeed. A Canadian national treasure. A master of his craft. The way he replaced Kevin Spacey in All the Money in the World is the stuff of legends. I loved him in too many movies to list.

RIP Mr Plummer. Thank you for sharing so many stories with us.

Note to Donald Sutherland, another giant Canadian actor and national treasure too: you, sir, are not allowed to die until the Montreal Expos are back.

Oh, now be honest, Captain. Warrior to warrior. You do prefer it this way, don't you, as it was meant to be. No peace in our time. "Once more unto the breach, dear friends."

Yup, agreed. A great story with great action action and characters--that's how to make a Star Trek film--so much better than Kelvin movies.

back before the MCU, when classically trained nerds got to be actors.
