Songs you'd like/hope/wish to see Nine Inch Nails cover.

We've already had multiple threads for set-list and track-list wishes, so I've thought of making a thread on covers you'd like and hope to see, even if they'd never happen. I'm sure a lot of joke wishes will also be inevitably thrown in here, but they're all welcome anyway. I also checked, but haven't seen a thread like this in the Nine Inch Nails section, and most threads on covers were about covers that already existed from other musicians, or covers that Nine Inch Nails has already made. So, which songs would you like Nine Inch Nails to cover in studio and/or live? What songs would you hope/wish for?

And with the way things have been going with talk of award shows and appearances on late night talk shows...

And well, you don't have to post any videos, especially if you have a very long list of songs, but it's become a regular habit of mine for quite some time now.

i'd go for "just like honey" by the jesus & mary chain. is it an obvious choice? yes. would it sound super sexy with trent singing it? hell yes.

would also love to hear him do "invisible sun" by the police. that would be pretty awesome.

I almost forgot to include the following Queen songs. (I'm trying to not get too crazy with this thread, but it's also very nice to see that it's actually doing well.)

I'd imagine that Innuendo would be spectacular with the Nine Inch Nails sound, and the message really fits in with it in a way to me.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love would also fit in since he's currently married and well... even Radiohead took a shot at it. (And it was a kick-ass version... even though I was only able to hear 20 seconds of it.)

It would also be sort of funny to see him play Don't Try Suicide next to Everything or even right after Hurt.

I would love to see a cover of Bowie's breaking glass. Could definitely feature Robin on the guitar for this one and I think TR could do it some damage.

Those would both sound amazing with Trent's vocals.

I've also always imagined Nine Inch Nails putting a Happiness In Slavery and/or I Do Not Want This sound to Nirvana's Milk It.

I think a studio version of NIN covering Bowie's Scary Monsters would be cool. And fuck, I'd give anything to hear the studio version of Soft Cell's Sex Dwarf that we know exists, even if it may never have been completed.

The Pretty Hate Machine, With Teeth, and Hesitation Marks sound makes me happily wonder what it can do to old Ministry songs. She's Got A Cause was just first song to come to mind.

I did this because I wasn't sure if it would fit. I also can't believe that I forgot to include Over The Shoulder. And of course, I'm not trying to say that I'd like/hope for him to do them all, but any of them would seem awesome to me. You could also say that I almost listen to Ministry as much as Nine Inch Nails.

As for later/heavier stuff, I thought that some Filth Pig and Dark Side of the Spoon tracks could also work well with NIN's sound.

I also like Nursing Home in a Reptile kind of way. (As far as sound goes.)

I also thought I'd that I'd throw this in. This would seem to be rather cool for/at an encore.

^ oh, hell yes! i would also go for digging in the dirt.

wonder if peter had approached trent about being part of the "you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours" project. i can imagine him doing some cool shit with a NIN song.

Well TR remixed Gabriel, I imagine each is therefore a fan of the other

If TR did a Peter Gabriel song, it'd have to be something like this:

    Or

    But perhaps it's too obvious.

I've often felt this would be a good song for NIN to cover. I feel it has a very NIN-ish vibe/lyrics.

A part of this was because Korn was my first obsession prior to Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails, and these songs sound like to fun to imagine with the NIN sound. Well, at least to me that is.

I also recall Trent Reznor actually not having a problem with Korn back in 1999-2000, so he'd probably be also more okay with their older stuff. And well, I pretty much am still a Korn fan even though I'm not into Korn as much as I've used to be. Their works from 1994-2003 still have an enormous hold on me whenever the mood and preference is just right.

Somehow I don't think this will be a very popular suggestion, but I would LOVE to hear a Trent remix of New Slaves by Kanye. Before you lose your shit, just listen to it and imagine the potential!
Personally, I think the song is amazing and could only be made more amazing by TRs genius.

Would love to see Trent cover Depeche Mode at some point, but if it hasn't happened yet, it probably wont.
