On Colbert last night. As is the norm, song sounds way better than the studio version, especially without those Woo-woos

I would HATE being on the floor stuck between a bunch of people who wont shut the fuck up during concert/performance, if you must talk then talk; don't carry on a conversation and most definitely do not laugh out loud. Fuck off.
Absolutely killer Pumpkins show in Camden last night (tour opener). Blue Skies Bring Tears was incendiary! I never even liked that song, but in a live setting with three layers of chunky, urgent, spacey guitars... it really stood out. It reminded me that somewhere in the Machina era, there was true brilliance tucked away behind the Food/Moulder mud bath of compression and reverb. Makes me appreciate songs like Sacred/Profane and Age Of Innocence even more now. James has really brought life back into the Pumpkins. And his on stage banter was always underrated...
PS- Noel played a safe, short, quiet little set. But Black Star Dancing is a fucking tune man!
Couldn't get an Aeroplane vid, my phone died and I was too busy rocking the fuck out anyway
12,000 in attendance according to Bill, who noodled a few notes of Come As You Are before going into Bullet. KoM was great live, James had a great shredding solo. He hilariously busted into Old Town Road during the call-response part of GLOW which now seems to be a thing they're trying to push. Bill was in good spirits and was plainly having a great time up there. Lots of people around in their late thirties, forties and fifties, and a hell of a lot of younger folks too. Noel had a couple of choice zingers during the High Flying Birds set:
"I hear you guys legalized drugs so you may see me more often."
*Plays Wonderwall* "That song made me so rich. So stupidly rich. I could buy this country. I won't, but I could."

I wish I could go to the Chicago show on Thursday, but I've already been to Chicago for concerts twice in the past year and I just got a new phone so I need to save money for a while. Very tempting though, I was checking the price of flights on Tuesday night.
Hope I can get to show here in ATL. It's only 20 mins away, but my wife probably can't be alone with 3 kids lol
What I don't understand is why they continue to play random covers instead of maybe playing one more song from Shiny?
Billy said in a Q+A that fans didn't really say much about it... I'd love if they'd play it, but who knows what imaginary metric hes using to determine that...
#PlayMarchinOn on twitter and IG anyone? lol imagine how pissed he'd be!
He does seem to get pissed by fans requesting songs — especially if they're from the first 3 albums. I'm sure it gets annoying when 90% of people only request stuff from Gish, Siamese Dream, and Mellon Collie while the new stuff doesn't get much attention, but he needs to relax.
Playing casinos?
This isn't the Manson thread
Let's get it started then lol! #PlayMarchinOn maybe in a winter tour? I'd really like to start #playGeekUSA 3 guitars, PLEASE!!!
There's a video of a fan asking Billy "why do you keep writing songs like 1979?". Billy, of course, being Billy took huge offense to that and shot back, "because people like you keep asking for it". After he said it, he walked away, eyes still locked on. Like, he dropped the sickest burn he's ever dropped in his life.
He's bitter as fuck.
Shiny oh So Bright... been really stuck in my head the past few weeks... I ended up loving this album!
So Jeff has his own musical project...
The duo is called Night Dreamer and their debut EP Treasure came out on Friday.
And to be honest, it is more enjoyable than Shiny and most of the music Billy has released post original line up. This release kinda shows it is not Jeff that is the problem in SP.
I also wrote Night Dreamer's FB page suggesting they make a Bandcamp page. Mindy, the singer, actually wrote me back saying she loves Bandcamp and that they will definitely look into it.

Tour kicked off last night:
Also he put up an entertaining mini-doc about the 30 Days trip, when the new songs were written:
No CD release?
Smashing Pumpkins announced for the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta May 1-3, 2020. Maybe that means there will be another North American tour around the festival.
Hopefully it also means we are going to get shiny vol. 2
Drippity drip drip
Cotillons is out there
And I'll be damned if it isn't pretty damned great to my ears. Very different. Lots of Celtic influence. a 17-track double album, so not everything jibes, but there's enough variation to keep things interesting.
