NIN Fans for Andrew Youssef - Dontations

As many of you already know, Andrew Youssef is a huge NIN fan much like ourselves. He is currently battling colon cancer. He was given free passes to see NIN and photograph the performance this past Saturday in Las Vegas. His health took a turn for the worse and he was unable to be in attendance.

This last weekend on Saturday, Trent hosted a live video chat with Andrew in front of the packed crowd at The Joint before playing his favorite song In This Twilight. It was the most heartwarming experience I have ever been a part of and it brought me to tears, as well as just about everyone else in the building. For a live video please see here: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/vi...-show-20131121

While in attendance at this show, I was with many people from the nin.com forums and Facebook NIN group friends. We have decided to set up a charity to help Andrew and his family cover the costs of his treatments and hospital bills. The facebook group can be found over here: https://www.facebook.com/NINfans4Andrew

PAYPAL DONATIONS CAN BE SENT HERE!
    https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...=2MNKWLDEJ5668

We have decided to use Paypal to hopefully avoid giving out a whole bunch of fees to various organizations. This Paypal is in the name of Andrew Youssef and we have already verified that in the time of his passing, his family will have access to this account to cover whatever treatment/bills/etc...

If at all possible, please send via 'friends and family' option to avoid fees going to Paypal. There is no minimum donation and every little bit helps. Even if you cannot make a financial contribution, we ask that you please share this to help spread the word whether it me word of mouth, social media sites, twitterbopping and google circling, whatever it is, raise some awareness.

Or stop here and say hello, share your photos/videos: http://nin4andrew.tumblr.com/

Now, to get the ball rolling... I am willing to ship a FREE Still CD that is brand new and sealed to anyone who makes a $10 donation or more! I will cover the shipping cost out of my own pocket if you are inside the continental USA, outside the USA please contact for shipping. All you have to do is send payment to the above paypal address, then send me a PM here with your email address payment was sent from and shipping address. Once I verify your email I will ship the CD via USPS First Class with tracking number. Though I am not sending in money I am putting in a lot of time and effort into doing whatever I can to help. This is my contribution.

We love you Andrew! Stay strong!

    EDIT:
Andrew Youssef passed away on Saturday 11/30/13 at the age of 38. I have been in communication with his brother and he was surrounded by his family at the time of passing and he went very peacefully.

"Hello all. Just wanted to let you hear the unfortunate news. Andrew passed away yesterday. He was surrounded by his family and loved ones and went peacefully.
It's been a tough month for sure, but I can honestly tell you, that your efforts and love have made a big difference for the family and Andrew.
If you want to update the website with this news that would be appreciated. We are working on finalizing services and dates for funeral and will update you accordingly.
Thanks again for everything team. Lots of love. More work to do though. Sorry if I missed someone on this. Apologize on my behalf if I did.
Love Pat and the Youssef Family."

It is very sad to hear about this. His family needs your prayers and donations more now than ever.

Andrew seems like an amazing dude, and this sounds like an incredible idea. So proud to be able to say I share the same hometown as Mr Youssef, if theres any volunteer work that needs to be done hit me up.

Thanks for the kind words. Andrew has been in all of our thoughts since seeing this. More info on how you guys can help will follow. Peedro Paula and Flower O' Malley are the 2 people "in charge" of this and are looking into what options we have, without getting raped in fees by some outside charity holder. When I have further info, I will share here.

Sounds like a great idea! I was at that Vegas show when Trent did the FaceTime call, thought it was very classy of him to do that.

As for gathering funds, I've looked at this in the past, but can't check them out while I'm at work. But there are fundraising crowd sourcing sites that are out there, that would probably facilitate the handling of the money fairly easy (Similar to Kickstarter/Indiegogo, but strictly for charity type donations). If I'm not too busy tonight, I'll see if I can fig up some of the sites that I was researching before.

Stay strong Andrew, stay positive. My best friend also has colon cancer which spread to his liver, and reading your blog posts, you two sound very similar. I really admire your guys strength and I truly wish you the best. Thank you for your contributions to the world of music.

NIN Fans for Andrew Youssef - Dontations

He is terminally ill which means he's not expected to survive long. Which is why he's doing his bucket list and using his last days doing the rock photography that he loves

As of right now, all we know is "OC Weekly said they will probably have a donation account within the next couple of days, but we'll see if Andrew lets us know his wishes first too."

I read this in an article yesterday and seen the video this morning. It was incredibly hard not to crack a smile within the first 30 seconds of the video. To see the acknowledgement from Trent and the band to spend time with and be with Youssef is incredibly cool.

Money is tight, but might send something the right direction.

"OK, let's try this Kumbaya thing. We set up a Tumblr at www.tumblr.com/blog/nin4andrew to be a virtual bulletin board to show Andrew how much we're thinking of him. You can submit your NIN concert photos for Andrew, well-wishes, videos, and whatever with the "Submit" link there or send them to an email we set up to feed the page at nin4andrew@gmail.com. Contribute something that will bring a smile to his face! This one we can do immediately- and it doesn't cost a thing." - Thanks O' Malley!

Did some digging through some old emails from a colleague that was setting up a fundraising campaign, he ended up going with Indiegogo, but in this case, I think HopeMob may work well in this case. It gives us a page to create our story, and handles the facilitation of money, I don't think there's any requirement to create incentives to donate (eg: give $20, receive a Thank You card), so this could act as a straight up donation page and provide an easy way to handle this.

Love the idea of this, i have the FB feed already.. I will do what i can.. I have been following this story, since the beginning, and Andrew is a Badass, photographer.. I cried when i watched what you got to experience live, Mr. Reznor is quite the man, love him for what he did, Andrew must of been beaming, to hear you all chanting his name.. I will be checking both sites to see.. For i tried tumblr again, and it is not working for me, and that girl you PM'd me about on FB don't know her.. I will, probably do by the e-mail that is up.. peace.

It didn't change anything. ETS links on FB are doomed to wear the face of CarltonBob...

You can take the carltonbob out of ETS but you can't take the ETS out of carltonbob.

Just FYI, the PayPal link in the first post is faulty. When I go to it, I get an error message. The link from the Facebook page is the one I have to use to get to the right page.

If I can manage to sell the FDTS variant that I have for sale right now, I'll be donating a portion of the money.
