    A lovely surprise!
From Lambgoat: Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou previously revealed that the band had four songs remaining from their sessions for 2017's The Dusk in Us. Well, it looks as if those tracks will surface tomorrow, June 29 via Epitaph Records and Deathwish Inc. in the form of a new EP titled Beautiful Ruin.

EP leaked and it's pretty great. They really do need a change in production though. As much as I still adore these guys (even if it's been 12 years since I loved an album of theirs from front to back), the soundscape these guys were creating in Jane Doe and You Fail Me still resonates with me and feels way more live / in the moment.

The new EP still sounds super mean though.

Grabbed the black/clear. Absolutely love the EP's vibe.

    ETA "Melancholia" video.

i was gonna get the black/clear but i was literally on top of a ladder hanging shades all day yesterday and had to order as quickly as possible. since i already had a deathwish store account, it made the most sense to just get the black/orange from their store.

No, but mostly because I don't want to pay for shipping again.

Double posting to ask if anyone else has taken the tracks from the Dusk In Us era and made an alternate track listing? I took all the songs and narrowed them down to 12:

    1 - Under Duress
    2 - Melancholia
3 - Eye of the Quarrel
4 - I Can Tell You About Pain
    5 - Arkhipov Calm
    6 - A Single Tear
7 - The Dusk in Us
    8 - Murk & Marrow
    9 - Broken By Light
    10 - Beautiful Ruin
    11 - Eve
    12 - Reptilian

Bannon performed a few songs during the Zozobra set at last night’s Caleb Scofield benefit show in Los Angeles. He did a pretty good job of screaming it in Caleb’s style. Highlight of the night was definitely the Isis reunion though.

Just donated to the GoFundMe...Ben broke his elbow in a ‘freak accident’ earlier today and needs money due to emergency surgery. Hope he’s ok. Wonder how this will affect the summer’s tour.

donated as well. He's gonna hit the $20k goal very shortly. I'd imagine that elbow is going to need to a long time to heal and rehab.

was supposed to see WYW on thursday last week but the doors were at 8:30 and WYW wasn't supposed to play until 11:30...i'm too old for that shit. i had a long work day on thursday and another on friday and if i had gone to the show i would have been fucking dead. i need to stop buying tickets for shows ahead of time :/ really sad i missed it, though. did pre-order the new album but wish i could have done the indie variant, it's so pretty.

Saw the final show of the WYW/Uniform tour tonight in Cambridge, MA. Uniform are a fucking fantastic band. I kind of wish WYW was either instrumental or had a different vocalist, as Bannon is really not a great singer. I know it’s his band, but I’d have enjoyed them more without him. I went primarily to see Uniform, who headlined, but they played about half as long as WYW, which was a bit disappointing. They were still awesome though.
