Did Slash express any dislike for C D? Why can't he play it?
OK, there's Axl, Frank Ferrer, Dizzy Reed, and Chris Pitman. I just hope DJ Ashba isn't in the band. He sucks ass.
DJ and Ron Thal left this year.
They've got more than enough material from AFD, Lies, and the Use Your Illusions (and probably even some of the cover songs) to make about 2 hour set to satisfy the "classic" lineup. This definitely screams for a greatest hits set list whether people here like it or not.
rumored lineup...
Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Dizzy Reed.
OK, let's get those dates already!
#GNR2016.
I Don't care if they're all fat and old, I won't miss this one.
Classic is good with me, It's basically what people really want to hear. Not just with GNR, but general consensus with most aging bands.
I won't be afraid to admit that I am probably only 1 of 20 people in the world that generally enjoys listening to Chinese Democracy. I think it's a solid album.
at this point, the best lineup would be Axl supported by a crew of Elvis impersonators
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. WE'VE GOT CAKES AND PIES.
Photoshopped photo is obvious.
Melodicrock.com is reporting that lineup--Axl, Slash, Duff, Dizzy, Richard and Frank. I prefer Frank over Sorum, tbh, and while I would love to have Izzy back, Richard is a good guitarist and musician, and a professional. I could see Pitman being in Axl's Frankenstein band, but the a reunion of three core members, his presence seems excessive.
give us some reggae.
As a fan of the Chinese Democracy album/era, I like the idea of Frank and Richard staying on board--it gives legitimacy to the 00's era of the band, and creates continuity. If there had been a full fledged AFD or UYI reunion, it would sort of acknowledge that the whole Chinese Democracy era was a mistake.
Going forward, if there is a reunion, I hope they can release a new album, and avoid whatever conflict they had in 1995/1996, when the band fell apart. Also, there must be dozens of finished songs recorded from the late 90's up until recently in the can, just release them already.
So,this Friday I attempted to cross another GN'R band member off my list by meeting Josh Freese. He was in town playing drums for Sublime with Rome. If it had happened earlier in the day I was planning on asking him a few GN'R related questions but at midnight in close to 20 degree weather after it had snowed, well that wasn't gonna happen. Josh was really nice though and it's too bad that they weren't here on Monday when it was 70 degrees. I'm about halfway through meeting everyone who has been in GN'R.
Whenever I see this thread bumped my hopes go up...and then...
So the classic logo is now up on gunsnroses.com.
My guess would be that news will come soon enough, but that the negotiations have been slow going.
On Eddie Trunk's podcast, he mentioned Coachella as a possibility. Pure speculation of course. My 2 cents is if you are going to do a reunion then you should have the 5 original members or it is not really a reunion.
