As someone who is pretty ambivalent about Punk, I feel for the guy getting injured right after getting back to the top of the mountain.
That said, the way they're dealing with it makes me WAY more interested in the world title scene.

I think it's OK, Punk will come back and this gives a chance for a new talent to step up.
I'm actually going to this week's Dynamite and am stupid fucking excited for this battle royal. Last time they were in KC we didn't get a Rampage afterwards either and we're getting a Rampage as well. Gonna be a good ass night.
I've been watching this for almost 33 years. I have far too much wrestling history and trivia lodged in my brain. I do a lot of work with the indys around here (not in-ring). I've had The Network/Peacock since they started with the WWE deal. I'm watching the Russo/Bischoff 2000 Nitros, and hoo boy. So, I've been in the loop for a long ass time...
... and I STILL had no idea what the HIAC card was outside of Cody/Seth. Then again, there was also the NXT Special last night, and far more forgot about that.
It's been so bad of late. Outside of Cody's heroic (/idiotic?) exhibition with Rollins, the show was pretty meh. WWE has really, REALLY lost my interest as a fan. They're spoiled with talent in the ring; if they had 1/10 that talent in the writers room, they'd be killing it.
As for the AEW situation, they'd be mad not to accelerate whatever plans they had for MJF/Punk III and have Max win the interim championship. Talk about must see.
I thought the women's 3-way was ****1/2. Otherwise, I didn't mind the show at all.
I watch death matches, etc. and even the HIAC last night was making me wince. Working on an injury like that is just... I can't rate the match. But carnies gonna carny.
If MJF shows up on Wednesday I'm gonna mark out so hard. But I doubt that will happen. Something tells me they're gonna keep MJF off TV for a bit longer just to drag it out.
My guess is that it will someone like Dax Hardwood or something to win the battle royal and then go on to beat Mox in the main event. And then lose to whoever wins the NJPW side of the tournament, resulting in Punk vs. NJPW guy whenever he comes back.
I think you’re going to get what you want and MJF will insert himself into the Battle Royale and win it, then beat Moxley and then beat whatever NJPW guy, setting up Punk vs MJF 3 but who knows for sure?
To keep the fantasy booking rolling, why not have Max enlist the tallest free agent out there in W. Morrissey to hit the ring in the battle royal, clear the field, then take a big stack of cash as he jobs for MJF. He then signs Morrissey to a similar contract as Wardlow had to become Max's new heater as he goes on to win the interim belt...
Tonight's Rumble match has been turned into a Casino Royal with a surprise Joker entrant as the 21st.
What are the ACTUAL chances of it being MJF tonight.
Have fun tonight!
Kind of a letdown with the eliminator; maybe some MJF shenanigans at Forbidden Door?
Forbidden Door is shaping up nicely. Edit - Ospreay & Aussie Open vs FTR & Trent ON RAMPAGE this Friday?!

Best match of the entire night. It was so good. Honestly Rampage was a little bit better than Dynamite. Red Velvet and Statlander was really damn great and the Kingston/Hager match was also a lot of fun.
Kingston was BY FAR the most over person all night. And the response to El Idolo being the joker was tepid at best. You could literally feel the entire arena's disappointment at it being him. What a fun night though. After Rampage finished Hook and Danhausen came out and FTR/Trent/Danhausen all did the best friend hug to Hook which was pretty funny.
None of that went the way I thought it would but that’s wrestling. I think AEW drags things out a bit too long at times instead of striking while the iron is red hot. It’s better than WWE never capitalizing on anyone Vince doesn’t want to push, but it’s still annoying sometimes.
Im thinking Christian turns on Jurassic Express and the Bucks regain the tag titles next week?

Can't say I'm shocked. This guy needs to go, get help, and retire. https://www.cagesideseats.com/aew/20...ltiple-charges
Once he decides to...?
And I never got the allure of Jeff Hardy as a singles star, so I can't say I agree with the Rock/Cena/HHH comparison. He definitely screwed up his chances, but even if dude got and stayed clean back in the day I think he would have had a limited ceiling.
This ain't gonna be pretty. Maybe Vince enters himself into MITB for a shot to earn his job back?
Dax vs Ospreay was unreal, and it was on free TV. Insanity.
****1/2
Forbidden Door might have been one of, if not, the best PPV I’ve ever seen. Top to bottom not a single mediocre match. Everyone was firing on all cylinders the entire night. Jesus fucking Christ that Orange Cassidy match was un-fucking-real.
Breaking: VKM an even bigger skeez than originally reported. https://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/20...or-coerced-sex
I hope this brings him down but it had no effect on his orange buddy so my hopes aren’t high.
Seriously, where's MJF?
I read somewhere (so it’s not necessarily true, I don’t know for sure) that MJF was supposed to beat Punk for the title at All Out which would explain why Punk came out to confront MJF after he’d done that “pipebomb” promo.
Now that Punk is hurt that all may be on hold.
Excalibur has mentioned MJF a couple times by name over the past couple of weeks, AND the cameras even zoomed on a guy in the crowd cosplaying as MJF on Dynamite this week. So I feel like they keep giving us little tidbits to remind us he's out there. But really though it only makes sense for MJF to come back when CM Punk is back.
New Age Outlaws Q&A...
Personally I’m not a fan of MJF at all. So if he becomes Champion quickly when he comes back I will just change the channel when he’s on, lol. In ring skills suck IMO, lol on mic he’s great. But even then I have grown tired of his gimmick. Sorry not sorry, just not a fan.
