I watched Season 1 of 13 Reasons Why. It reminded me a lot of Felicity. Both shows involve a lovelorn wallflower making cassette tapes for some distant person or entity. Hannah and Felicity both cut their long curly hair and went through some dramatic transformation. The lead actresses are so similar. They should've hired Keri Russell to play Hannah's mother. Katherine Langford looks and sounds so much like her. Maybe the author Jay Asher was a fan of Felicity when it was still on TV.

If anyone is into history, the Nazi Mega Weapons & Nazi Mega Structures provide some great insight into the crazy lengths the Nazis's went through to weaponize and defend their empire. crazy shit.

Those are good points about Keri Russell; talk about meta. I just started the second season of 13 Reasons and I'm really curious where they go, now. On a side note, I started binging The Americans and, damn, Keri Russell really shines in that role. She is so believable as someone hardened by her upbringing and trained to kill. It's great that she found this role that is a complete 180 from her earlier work as the quieter/wallflower type. Unfortunately, that's not on Netflix. I think you can still catch the entire series on FX, though.

    Whoa.

The Obamas have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce shows/series.

That sound you hear is Trump's head exploding.

Shit like this is precisely why I never voted for him. With everything going on in the country, how he has spent his time since leaving office has been completely uninspiring & almost exclusively about lining his own pockets. The man wasn't a fighter while in office, and continues to not fight now. Sad. (Marginal) CHANGE indeed.

Sense8 2 hour finale is out now.
    I have mixed feelings.

I'm glad it's out but I still think it sucks that the show was cancelled.
I love the vibe of it; it reminds me of Cloud Atlas a lot.

Lost in Space while spectacular to look at was almost a complete waste of my time. 10 hours for pretty much no story, revelations, twists etc. It's been a while that I was so dispelased with a major Netflix show. A true bummer...

    Oh goddamnit. Ha.
I saw it on a "tv highlights thing" and I thought it was for yesterday.
I guess it was for the week.

Perhaps it's out now? I'm about to check

Something that happened in 2018 is why you didn't vote for him in 2008?

Fuck dude, can I borrow that time machine of yours some day? I'll even return it before I borrowed it; you'll never know it was gone.

I guess it's more that moves like this continue to validate my views on the man since he first ran. Looks great on the surface, not as much substance. Just another centrist.

Been watching The Staircase. At one point they introduce in an instrument known as a “blow poke,” and I just can’t handle it.

I would like to recommend a few docs I've seen lately.

One Of Us is about people who want to leave the Hasidic community; for me, those people are so fucking insular that learning anything AT ALL about them is a trip.

White Right is stunning: it's a young Muslim woman bravely interviewing and chilling with members and leaders of white supremacist groups, with stunning results. She also made one called Jihad, where she interviews Islamic extremists. These two go great together: the similarities between the mujahideen and the white supremacists are fairly pronounced.

And yeah, The Staircase is great, and it's got that blow poke like @Bachy said.
