While we're at it, I cannot fucking stand music videos with studio audio over actual live footage. The lamest thing. Back when Korn was a thing for me (earlier stuff still is to an extent) I remember being so gutted when the video for Haze turned out to be what it was. Ball dropped. Song was also rubbish.

My quick contribution to this thread begins with: Ringfinger is good. Deep video is cool. Give me a while and I'll return with a vengeance...

With Teeth is a much better album than Hesitation Marks.
    By far.

Oh, I thought you were yelling at me

@Fangster_ Liking Ringfinger isn't too controversial, I'd love to see a Ringfinger 2013 version being played live.

What Deep video? THE Deep video? Just kidding. It's not even that bad, it's just like a b-movie. You watch it once or twice and that's it, you've seen it. That's why I'm always more interested in visuals, rather than story base videos. Another reason why I love the CBH video and videos like The Loop Closes.

Of what little I've heard of the female backup singers (that one instagram video) I'm not digging it. Of course, I'm also not that big of a fan of the song they're doing in that video, so who knows what I'll feel about it in the end.

I was going to say "my gay orgy begs to differ" but then I remembered that gay orgies with ladies are actually awesome

Here's something: I have just been figuring it's Saul's voice, not a woman.

I thought that the historians agreed that there was a Jesus that was born and crucified at the appropriate times.
The stuff in between is up for debate, though.

    but you're wrong!

there was a twitter update posted in the other thread that confirmed who all of the people on stage were. the female vocalists were lisa fischer & sharlotte gibson.

He looked like a beefed-up Chris Vrenna.

Then he got the buzz cut for the tour and started looking like Maynard in a wife-beater. I thought that was worse.

Deep was a good song, and the music video wasn't that bad.

I like the song. Everybody shits on the song because of the video, and with good cause. The video just looks CHEAP. I mean YEAH, you're not going to spend THAT much money on a music video, but it LOOKED like they didn't spend that much money.
    Compare it:

    ... to this one:

Rammstein spent money for props and a helicopter camera and it looks 25 times better than Deep.

My roommate and my firlfriend both dig Hesitation Marks, but neither of them enjoy All Time Low (though the GF does admit it's catchy). Respectively, one's a NIN veteran, the other I'm introducing to the catalogue.

I'd prefer Robin's high pitched vocals to female backup singers, not because "boo women on MY NIN stage" but because I love Robin's backup vocals. Some people think they're silly sounding, some flat-out think they're bad.

i like robin's backups, too! but i'm still excited about some really talented, dedicated vocalists being a part of the live band.

Can I choose "all of the above?" They're silly and sometimes flat-out bad and that's why I love them.

I was hoping for at least one sexy blonde female vocalist. Not that I'm not looking forward for God Given (gospel edition), but still.

And the Burn video... Trent's music videos after TPF has been so minimalistic that I don't see how could you hate on Deep, but not on them? "Oh my god, they are throwing paint at Trent, that's so bad and unoriginal! Oh, look, a super close-up shot on Trent's eyebrow in Into The Void, man that's so fucking... deep and.... meaningful.... so much art, man!" Seriously...

The Broken movie, The Perfect Drug and the Closer are great, but that's all. Aside from these, there are some decent one, and the rest is just trash - hell, Deep is not even in the trash category.

this may not be too controversial, but... though I like the Slip, i think the mixing and mastering on most of it are terrible. 1000000 and letting you are live killers and I'd way rather listen to live versions than the ones on the album.
