One thing I'd recommend is that, if - as some people seem to be - you're actually bothered by the fact that you're not into this new material, then maybe try poking around these other, non-song-based, kinds of music, and acquiring a taste for them. There's a wealth of excellent ambient and minimal music to explore, and if you can get into it then there's a lot of pleasure to be had. If you're able to get attuned to this kind of music then the TR+AR's recent work will start to sound a lot less homogeneous and dirgey.
