Dragon Tattoo is the “most NIN like” of the earlier ones IMHO and the music fit the movie a lot better than TSN. After Gone Girl pretty much stopped listening to the scores, lack of vocals and percussion just started to bore me a bit. It’s not for everyone.

+1 for Immigrant Song. Think it’s a great cover.

"A Minute to Breathe" and "The Way It Used to Be" notwithstanding?

Agreeded but The Vietnam War sucked me in, probably because I've watched the entire documentary series 4 times so I'm pretty familiar with the music.

edit:I've been a huge Ken Burns fan since I was a kid and watched Baseball and The Civil War on PBS.

Yessir, I think people are sleeping on The Vietnam War. As I stated before, it's a great "middle ground" for the score work. I'm not really sure how Dragon Tattoo would make the best album, even if it is your favorite... it's almost 3 hours long. It's like saying SAW II is the best Aphex Twin album for new people to get in to. Think about it...

Not familiar with the songs, I honestly really did stop paying attention to the score stuff after trying to get into Gone Girl. I know they’re doing a Pixar film and curious to see how that turns out so I’ll probably attempt to listen to that or at least watch the movie.

Watchmen and Vietnam War can stand all on their own, are very interesting to listen to. Or even just pull a few tracks of of each you connect with and make a playlist.

I love Four Enclosed Walls, so much tension in this song, I just love the way it builds (Everytime they use it in the doc, it's really ramps up that atmosphere too).

I would be devastatingly disappointed if this was a thing and it came to St. Louis. A decision this bad would likely negatively affect my view on nine inch nails forever and would be a horrifying tour to do near the twilight of his touring ability to perform the harder to sing songs.

Lets let him do these songs when he's 65 and can't sing happiness in slavery anymore.

Add this to the list of 5.1 mixes I have no idea on the source.

Ghosts, The Slip, and Year Zero were done by a user named demo.

I watched this version of Happiness in Slavery from Radio City Hall, wow the Slaverrrrrryyyy bits, like it was Woodstock all over again (about 1.14 in)

Without the Hollywood cred, they don't get in the Hall of Fame today. Much as I hate to say it, I feel like there is part of this that is true otherwise I wouldn't say such a thing here. It's a bit more of a far-flung example but I am sure there was thinking at the time that Black Sabbath was inducted, it was partly because of the success of Ozzy having a successful reality TV show.

That Radio City show was so amazing... The sound quality in that venue blew me away.

Reminder that "Sunspots" is still a terrible song.

I always think of Meathead's animation of Trent vacuuming during that song.

The only TERRIBLE, unlistenable nin track is God Break Down the Door.

    The only BAD songs are:
    Everything
    Satellite
    Disappointed
    Ahead of Ourselves
    Over and Out

Everything else is at least 7/10. I'm not including hesitation marks really because that album doesn't make me feel anything at all.

    Hard no.

Satellite, Ahead of Ourselves, Over And Out, Sunspots, The Fragile, Vessel, and Even Deeper all kick serious amounts of ass.

Must I say it again? I’m Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally is a horrid boring slog. It’s also so out of place on the album. It’s a strong contender for worst NIN song but Running is real bad. I’d have to say it’s probably worse than ILFTJYF.

Damn without going back thru the previous pages, I love Vessel, Ahead of Ourselves, I'm Looking Forward to Joining You Finally and Satellite. None of the other songs listed are that bad either IMO.

The only truly wretched NIN track is Light In The Sky. To quote @Swykk it's "a horrid boring slog".
