I'm seeing the Killing Joke next week!
So excited and full of emotions right now. I am seeing a favorite band, since I first got into music as a kid, tomorrow evening for the very first time.
Mind.. Blown...
I’m about to do the VIP meet and great in an few. Is there anything you guys want me to ask Jaz on your behalf?
I don't have tickets yet, but i'm planning to catch them next week!
Lol, I was going to do that regardless. I might bring up Mont Sherar and the book he worked on, The Twilight of Mortals. I’ve yet to buy it.
Jaz was the fucking coolest! I asked about the symphonic album and he had someone bring a luggage to him and he dugout an old MP3 player and played the Symphonic version of Absent Friends for us! He said it’s coming out soon!

I said it before and will say it again...Pandemonium is fucking brilliant.....That record needs to get more attention. One of their top 3 albums
Let's do this..
1. Democracy
2. Hosannas
3. Night Time
4. Absolute Dissent
5. Fire Dances
6. Killing Joke (2003)
7. Pandemonium
8. Extremities
9. What's THIS For...!
10. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns
11. Revelations
12. Killing Joke (1980)
13. MMXII
14. Pylon
15. Out the Gate
Pylon and MMXII are both perfectly fine, I just haven't lived into them yet as much as their other albums. Outside the Gate...yea, fuck that album lmao.
While other legacy bands like the RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool and Pearl Jam continue to embarrass themselves year after year, KJ fucking deliver with virtually every album. No band in their late 50s should be expected to make music that stands up to their prime era from 20-30 years ago, and yet this band always manages to do so just fine. Maybe only NIN can say the same..
And Dinosaur Jr who are also making their best music ever
1. Pandemonium
2. Killing Joke (1980)
3. Killing Joke (2003)
4. Democracy
5. Revelations
6. Fire Dances
7. Absolute Dissent
8. Night Time
9. Exremities
10. Whats THIS For...
11. MMXII
12. Hosannas
13. Brighter Than a Thousand Suns
14. Pylon
15. Outside The Gate (does this count as an album?)
Bear in min 7-12 are all basically equal and great.....13 is solid but was getting too close to Duran Duran territory. Pylon I havent absorbed yet....Pandemonium is their best. Full on fucking assault. The Ministry album Al Jourgensen wishes he made....2003 is also a masterpiece..Revelations is the under-rated masterpiece that gets overlooked. Honorable mention goes to their 1979 debut EP Turn To Red which is also great and would fit in somewhere between 10-12

Still fuming they toured with Pig and it was absolutely nowhere near me. The 2012 tour remains one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Question for anyone who's got 'em: How do the later remasters compare to the originals? Only remasters I have are up to Brighter Than...
Much as I love Pandemonium I always felt the mix was really muddy.
I found the remasters for download on mp3caprice.
Did anyone get that RSD remaster of Absolute Dissent this year? And if so, did it come with a download?
Holy shit this brought tears to my eyes. This is so wonderful and amazing. A tasteful way to remember and honor Raven.
I can't find any physical pre-orders for Magna Invocatio all I can find are digital:

Relieved to see Pylon near the bottom of everyone's lists. I've just been really getting into Killing Joke lately and Pylon was the first album of their's that really didn't click with me. I haven't listened to them all yet, but so far I'm feeling their mid-late 80's albums the most. Need to continue listening to the rest.
Just gonna drop this here. Been on a kick lately.
Unrelated: Walking With Gods is my jam.
It's up there in my top 3 I'll give you that. So is their second self titled.
@Shadaloo thanks for posting that live gig, what a hell of an hour I had enjoying that today.
For a band who I thought were not going to come back following Raven's sad passing, they ended up reforming and over ten years later really haven't let up ever since, which is impressive in any band that's been around as long as KJ have. Long may it continue!

The 2003 self-titled apparently came out on vinyl this year for the first time. I need to go check my local record shop.
Looking over their recent pledgemusic history, there was an LP set which was planned but fell through. It would be nice if we were starting to the the results of those initial plans as I really don't have the funds to pay $200 apiece for basically half of their discography.

Reissues of Pandemonium and the S/T debut up for preorder here. Has anyone found these for sale anywhere in the US?
What's the deal with the remixes on Pandemonium? Kind of prefer they leave the songs be. Particularly Millennium.
Jaz Coleman, Geordie Walker, and Peter Hook are putting out an EP next month made up of 3 tracks recorded in 1993. Preorders here.
