So I have a few days to kill while recovering from a cold and I'm about to start watching this show. I've never been a sucker for fantasy but if something's good it's good, and I hope it's good.

"He shamed us, the whole realm was laughing, we had to cleanse the stain on our honor." His father had said all that and more.
Halfway through Ripper Street on netflix and it's like a Game of Thrones reunion: the actors who play Maester Qyburn, Jorah Mormont and Roose Bolton have guest roles, and of course, Jerome Flynn (Bronn) is a series regular.
edit: and now Ser Barristan Selmy and Brynden Tully.
I remember when Bronn was a novelty act with a cover of Unchained Melody. WEIRD.
i'm not 100% sold on what you are trying to point out by posting that quote.
from the freys i suppose it is the only defense they could give, it is sort of darkly funny that they would prefer to be associated with the red wedding vs some stain on their honor that robb broke off a betrothal. my read on walder frey is that he's basically crastor with a slightly better bloodline, and maybe not as much incest.
by allowing the red wedding to happen under his roof, the freys have demonstrated that they are utterly and completely without honor, and whatever status they hope to achieve is tied completely to the fortunes of both the lannisters and the boltons.
tyrion at least had honor or wits enough to realize the impact of the red wedding when he said "the north will never forget..."
all that being said, if house stark was on solid footing, and frey didn't have the support of both the bolton's and the lannisters, would they have dared stage the red wedding? - never.
I had just read the epilogue in A Storm of Swords and that quote from Merrett Frey stood out, given the discussion on honor.![]()
Deleted scene from season 3!
That was delightful.
Got to admit, Charles Dance is a very sexy man.
Something I just realized, watching the opening title credits: each of the actors has a sigil representing the house of the character they played. *slow golf clap*
And Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke have the wrong sigils in the first episode.
I hate recastings.
What? Noooooo.
That's the problem of having an enormous cast and no long-term contracts for supporting roles.
My loins weep.![]()
Will he have the beard or not this season?
They're on a recasting binge.
Hafþór “Thor” Björnsson recast as Ser Gregor Clegane.

Damn, he's tall enough to be the Mountain.
FAT WALDA, YAYAYAYAYAY!
Will we see Roose making her squeal?
Vacationing in the Summer Isles.
