Here are the additions since v2.0. Renames, retags, deletions, etc., were left off the list to keep it simple. Also, some people like to keep the old sources/transfers along with the new ones:

Almost 200 additions since the last release... Nice! Although a lot from the new tours. I am really happy for what has been unearthed from previous tours. Especially a few of those 1990/91 recordings. Great to see that there are still master tapes out there.

That txt file is the log of any change I've made to the nin drive. Mostly notes for myself, so that's why it looks so wonky. I wasn't going to share that out, as it's an organized chaos. But I feel it is good for people to have more info on why the changes were made and on what.

In terms of audio recordings, I still have about 50 more recordings that I have not been able to work on but have transferred. Sometimes I lose motivation to make all the edits and track things out. I'm only one person.

This project has been my life though for the last 10 years, whenever I have free time. Great to see others jumping on this.

Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent thing, however, i'm asking myself if I should do it, ppl like me that upgraded all along the way including video. I'm not sure it's usefull for me.

Then you should have no problem jumping on to seed this then!

I keep audio/video on separate drives. Because data loss.

Is anyone suddenly getting virtually no download speed on the NIN Drive torrent? I was hauling ass for about a day, and I just noticed that I'm now sitting at about 10Kbps - and my general internet connection is just fine. I'm wondering if my ISP is being a twatwaffle and fucking with things.

update: torrent client issue. Stupid thing thought my disk was overloaded. Tweaked some cache settings and we're back in business.

I've uploaded about 129GB so far. Trust me, that is huge for my internet speed.

I am uploading a bunch more videos to YouTube and on the archive for people to check out. Big thanks to a friend of mine in LA who has been editing the footage together.

Should have some Noblesville 2009 stuff up in the coming days. My video recording and also Tapeworm48's from near the front row. Stoked! I haven't watched either in almost a decade.

HA! I've had your Noblesville DVD in an incomplete folder since 2009 & had no idea "Ryan J" was you until just now.

LOL, yep! That's me! 2009 was simpler times... I was just starting my senior year of undergrad. Now every year I'm just starting to feel older.

So, I tried contacting 10musica about their Buenos Aires 2008 pro-shot to see if they had a better version for the archive. To keep a long story short, the 10 musica I contacted wasn't the same company. BUT, they have been doing the Estereo Picnic Festival and have the nin footage from that!!!! I am not sure how much they are sending me, but it sounds like it will be the full show! HYPE!

EDIT: This isn't an April Fools. Just to state.

I put together a source / recording list txt for v3.0 of the NIN Drive, and I thought I'd share. The txt file was generated "automatically", formatted, and then double-checked by copy/pasting each individual source to verify accuracy. Any inconsistencies / oddities are present in the folder name.

    1068 sources / 642 shows

Hi guys, some technical advice needed.

For the past few months I've been working on a multicam version of an old show (2009 tour). The editing part of the project is mostly done, but I need an advice on how to encode it afterwards.
The source video pieces are all in different quality. Different resolution, different bitrate, most likely different FPS. More than a half of them are ripped from Youtube, some from Vimeo or Facebook, plus a bunch of raw files straight from the cameras that some people donated.
Almost all of it comes in 640x480 (or lower) so that's that default size that I keep my final scene in.

I don't even know what exactly am I asking... what settings should I use then I export the final cut to preserve the best quality, I guess?

I don't know either what answer you are waiting. That's of course bluray standard, with his very high bitrate, what else ? Again, there's only H264 in the world, everywhere.

Uncirculated 1994 tape incoming. So stoked to add this one. Trent's voice sounds so damn good. Up tomorrow! I've got to work on it a bit.

Yes 94-95 is still my favorite live era.

Self Destruct tours, tour with Bowie, the mysterious club tour with helmet, Danny lohner, keyboard smashing, ect

With all of these variables, your most important setting is going to be your frame rate. I can't remember if Final Cut forces you to conform the frame rate of a clip when added to a project, but I typically used 29.97 Frame Blending or Optical Flow. Optical Flow should be the "best" (least amount of stutter and artifacts), but your mileage may vary depending on how many different frame rates you're trying to conform. Rendering is required for both of these options, with Optical Flow taking anywhere from 2x-8x longer.

Assuming everything is how you want it, these should be your project export settings. These are from memory, so please let me know if I missed a category:

    Format = H.264

    Resolution = 640x480

Rate = 29.97p (this setting should not be changeable unless the timeline is empty. If you have a different value here, check the frame rate for the majority of the clips. If I remember correctly, Final Cut sets the project frame rate the same as the first clip you added. This is the most important setting.)

    Color Space = Standard - Rec. 709

Codec = Apple ProRes 422 HQ (Just to be safe, I would recommend HQ because you are partially using "raw" camera files. If you find that HQ is too taxing on your computer, switch to regular Apple ProRes 422)

    Audio Channels = Stereo

Audio Sample Rate = 48 kHz

This new recording is really good and made me revisit some shows today. What a setlist that was too.

The Master singing "Hurt" was about as cool it gets in this universe.

Could I get some suggestions from fellow tapers on a good digital PCM in the $300 range? I currently run a Tascam DR05 and I'm upgrading my rig.
This came about because I recently had a wire come loose inside one of my Core Stealthy Cardiods over my vacation, so I bought a new pair . This time I opted for their mid level mics that run off a battery box. When I bought my current pair 6 years ago I wasn't sure how serious I was going to take this taping thing, so I opted for the entry level mics that run without the battery box.

Anyways, I love the DR05 but It time to upgrade. I absolutely love taping the concerts I go to. So I'm just looking for recommendations on what would be a good recorder to buy.
