I don't know if I think the line intentionally does that, but the way it is set up communicates that. I don't think someone sat down and was like "women who can't give birth are monsters like the hulk," I guess maybe after what eversonpoe said

I think that, through the process of writing the line, shooting the movie, and editing the scene nobody stepped back and realized how the line comes off.

    Ant-Man; decent. I like it.
Hope is a nice addition and so is Cassie.
De-aged Douglas looked a bit weird in the eyes.
I really like the wallpaper in Pym’s house.
    The Falcon fight was fun.
    I like Luis’s rambling stories.
The backhand table tennis paddle into the bug zapper and then being tased was nice symmetry.
Does insurance cover “toy train” damage?
I really liked their quantum realm artistry... and the "Macroverse" stuff was cool too.
I would have liked the post-credits scene not to be excerpt from Civil War but it does continue the mid-credits scene...

“I think our first move, should be calling the Avengers…”

    “I ruined the moment, didn’t I?”

“You know he was arrested for stealing a smoothie machine, right?” “Two smoothie machines.”

“That’s a messed up looking dog.”

Captain America: Civil War ... I still like it. Lots of character development going on... the moral conflict in each of them.
    Solid introduction for Black Panther.
Charming introduction of Peter and Aunt May.
Nice to see another re-used actor in the MCU, this time Alfre Woodard as Miriam whose son died in Sokovia... and then as Mariah Dillard ("Stokes." corrects Bushmaster).
Bucky using Steve as a weapon in the apartment was funny.
Tony and Aunt May are cute.
    Poor Vision
    Bucky and Wilson are funny
The airport fight scene is probably one of of my favourites of the series.
Poor Tony... so blinded by caring and potential (and actual) grief.
I wonder if Zemo at all foreshadows into the Black Widow movie. Kinda seems like he should...
Cool to see the Raft and Ross is still an asshole.
Bucky and Cap are just good together.
    Oh Rhodes.
I can see the potential of a Falcon and Winter Soldier series... just so long as they don't waste it.
Not so sure about WandaVision... I did like what I saw of the teaser but just not sure about the sustainability of it. I can much more see a Wanda show than a Wanda+Vision show. Although, it was interesting to hear Vision use the same argument about the Mind stone and integration to Wanda and her powers and Tony with his chest implant to Bruce about being the Hulk.
And if you don't like the rendering in Black Panther, you probably didn't like the tunnel chase scene with Bucky, Cap and Black Panther either.

    “To see an empire fall.”

“I’m not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car.” “It’s low profile.”

“It was a great audition but it’ll… it’ll never happen again.”

“You couldn’t have done that earlier?” “I hate you."

“Oh man, I thought it was a water truck, uh… Sorry.”

    “We haven’t met yet. I’m Clint.” “I don’t care.”

Did anyone see that Chris Evans accidentally shared a picture of America's erect penis on his Instagram?

That news had me cracking up the other day. But this had me on the floor yesterday after his tweet acknowledging it:

Black Panther... a satisfying movie... but still a bit on the long side.
I love the detailing in the costumes and just great fashion in general.
    Nakia is cool.
    Shuri is happy geek.
Killmonger’s introduction was perfect for him and in general, I quite like the character.
Oh Klaue (Serkis does a really good job with him) ... another wasted MCU villain but you did get what you deserved.
I've always liked the Jabari Tribe.
Okoye doing that wig throw... and say what you will about Wonder Woman fighting in a dress but that Okoye kicks ass as well. The dragonfly ships are cool.
    Rhino cavalry.
Still not sure what I think about C.I.A. agent Ross...

“Did he freeze?” “Like an antelope in headlights.”

“This corset is really uncomfortable so could we all wrap it up and go home…” *clap clap*

"And I made them completely sound absorbent.” “Interesting.” “Guess what I call them… sneakers.”

“Put some music on, what do you think this is a funeral?”

“Great another white boy for us to fix. This is going to be fun.”

“Don’t scare me like that Colonizer."

    “I’m kidding, we’re vegetarians.”

"I could use an army as well.” “I bet you could heh heh... but no.”

“Who… who are you?” and then he smiles... RIP Chadwick.

SNL is trash, but THIS decidedly is not. Been shared around alot since Chadwick passed. Absolutely hilarious.

Spider-Man: Homecoming ... again, a very satisfying movie.

The eye points on Vultures helmet remind me a lot of the '67 series. I dig it...
The Civil War adventure film by Peter Parker was good for filling in a bit of Civil War.
Tony is so awkward around younger people (kids, teenagers ... and really, other people in general).
If I had the room I’d build the LEGO Death Star… and Imperial Star Destroyer but I don't... so I a boxes of unbuilt LEGO piling up.
I really like this version of MJ.
    Thug Thor punches thug Hulk.
I like the AT-AT toy on Peter’s shelf.
    That poor LEGO Death Star!
Taking Spider-man for a nice drag.
The Shocker outfit colours was nice to see… But old Shocker there was an asshole. New Shocker has a much better personality.
    Keaton is a great Vulture.
I want that silver-haired girl that was walking behind Peter to be Black Cat… eventually.
The green Vulturesuit wings were a nice touch.
Peter after having the warehouse dropped on him.
The last heist/fight/crash/fight/rescue was quite captivating (maybe it was the disco-lights on the plane...)
    Oh Happy.
Nice to see that Kenneth Choi is still a Morita.
...and if the theory about who Donald Glover's character is turns out to be true (becoming the Prowler), well... that would be something.
...and I'd sure like to see a good Sinister Six movie now.

“Too late. You guys are losers.”

“What did I say about using the bell for comedic purposes?”

“911, what’s your emergency?” “uhhh, Spider-man is fighting the Avengers in a bank on 21st street.”

“Pretty sure this guys a war criminal now but whatever I have to show these videos it’s required by the state.”

    “Can’t you just be a friendly ... neighbourhood Spider-man?”

“Keep your fingers clear of the blades.” *continues reading*

    "Guy in the chair…” *spins*

“That was a test right, there’s, uh, nobody back there?”

"Hi, I'm Captain America. Here to talk to you about one of the most valuable traits a soldier or student can have. Patience. Sometimes patience is the key to victory. Sometimes it leads to very little, and it seems like it's not worth it, and you wonder... why waited so long for something so disappointing." *looks off camera* "How many more of these?"

Doctor Strange ... hmm, yeah, it's alright. It's always hard for me to enjoy it due to unresolved disability trauma but I don't dislike it. Strange could have handled it better. And then there's the implant to “control schizophrenia” in the struck by lightning girl. It's called deep brain stimulation and in theory it's a treatment option for my movement disorder buuuuut looking at the data I'm definitely not convinced it's a good solution (especially when I already have a very good management technique). But yeah, Strange certainly was an asshole.
Kaecilius is a decent villain... for a zealot (like Ronin and Malekith).
    Wong is good.
    The cape is funny.
The backwards time fight in Hong Kong was neat.
Kind of curious to see where "Too many sorcerers..." plot from the post-credits scene goes.

“It’ll take me a while to pull the files from archives but if it proves your arrogant ass wrong… worth it.”

“I’d given up on my body. I thought my mind was the only thing I have left, I should at least try and elevate that.”

“Have you seen that before in a gift shop?”

“Mister Doctor…” “It’s Strange.” “…Maybe. Who am I to judge.”

“I never saw your future, only its possibilities.”

    “Dormammu... I've come to bargain.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp is one of the more charming MCU movies.
The de-aging on everyone looked much better than the first movie but the SUVs turning during the SF chase scene looked... unnatural/cartoon-y.
The office building as luggage was cool.
I like Ghost and chronic acute pain Ava gets my empathy and my empathy for just you know, wanting to exist.
    Cassie was still cool.
    Still like Hope/the Wasp.
The all Morrisey jukebox still makes me smile (and Luis's ringtone).
The references to the first Ant-Man movie was nice.
The Marcoverse van chase scene in San Francisco for cool and the Hot Wheels case in general.
Seems like there could be an opportunity for a Ghost and Winter Soldier story.
The model scale credits were great.
    That mid-credits scene… ooof.
But the end credits... well, good that lil drummer ant survived.
...but I do wonder what happened so that Scott get house arrest, the last we saw him he was on the Raft and Captain America had presumably freed him... so what, he got a plea deal after escaping?

“I eat fear for breakfast...” “That is super cool!”

“Heya Champ, how was school today?”

“Who are you and why do you know so much about car wash protocol?”

“There’s no such thing as truth serum. That’s just nonsense from TV.”

“You can do it. You can do anything. You’re the World’s Greatest Grandma.”

“You never said it was so beautiful Scott."

“Well the 60s were fun but now I’m paying for it.”

    “Aww, you got PEZ’d!”

Captain Marvel really sucked me in. A 2h movie that doesn't feel like a 2h movie is always a good sign to me.
    Finally seeing the Skrulls.
Larwson is funny, I like her. I have no idea why people didn't like her (aside from them being asshats).
    Coulson with hair.
The Skrull leader was good (Mendelsohn did well under that make-up ... and so did Maher).
Knowing more early Ronin is good.
Playing “Come As You Are" at that moment was... revealing.
And like always, fuck the Kree (lots of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. story arcs with them)
Goose is awesome… (but purely digital Goose looks cartoon-y... not bad, just, well... you know it isn't real)
    Nick Fury eye trauma story.
Monica is cool. She could build a spaceship.
And how the name Avenger’s was chosen… a subtle reminder.
Great soundtrack (speaking of which, I picked up 6 Heart albums today as part of a project).
You can watch the mid-credits scene without having watched Infinity War but boy does it add suspense (especially coupled with the Ant-Man and the Wasp scene, this set up alone has probably justified this order of re-watching).

“It’s funny because objectively speaking you are quite handsome.”

“Where can I find commincations equipment?” *points to Radio Shack*

“Uhh, I’m still here at the Blockbuster…”

“Grunge is a good look for you.”

“If toast is cut diagonally then I can’t eat it.”

    “We got a stowaway.”

“Call me young lady again I’m going to put my foot in a place it’s not supposed to be.” "Am I supposed to guess where that is?"

    “Good kitty.”

    “Return to the Jump Point.”

(and of course we have the crossover t-shirt... my beloved quite enjoys wearing it)

Just watched Thor the Dark World today in our chronological Marvel watch. I didn’t enjoy it anywhere near as much as the first Thor. It felt like in the first one there was much more attention to character, with an arc for Thor making him appear less an arsehole as time went on. I did like Loki’s bits though.

with Natalie Portman, she was used a bit like Revenge of the Sith, where she was just pregnant and weeping the whole time, in this she was unconscious for most of it, didn’t seem like any romantic chemistry between her and Thor.

I don’t think the guy who plays Thor has quite the Robert Downey Jr charisma that makes a prick seem attractive

Thor: Ragnarok ... very satisfying and easily the most amusing of all of the MCU.
Skurge and his Shake Weight (a conflicted character to be sure)
    Damon as Loki... heh
    I liked Odin’s death scene.
Again, the details in the costuming is just great.
Valkyrie is a rather nice addition.
Heimdall evolving more as a character is cool.
    Hulk ass.
I dig the colour palette of Sakar and seeing the Jack Kirby stuff come to life is nifty.
Blanchett as Hela worked really well.
And this time the re-used MCU actor is Clancy Brown (the voice of Surtur, and of course from Major Schoonover from Daredevil and The Punisher Netflix stuff)
I might have to pick up the Mothersbaugh soundtrack...

    “Stay!”

“Do me a favour and lock this away in the Vault so it doesn’t turn into giant monster and destroy the whole planet.”

“Don’t forget your umbrella.” “Oh yes.”

“I have been falling! For thirty minutes!”

“You’ll pay for this…” “No, I got paid for this.” *walks away*

“He’s my brother.” “Adopted.” Nice call back there.

“Ah yeah no, this place is like a circle. But not a real circle, more like a freaky circle."

“That’s exactly what Doug used to say. Seeya later new Doug.”

“I know you’re in there Banner, I’ll get you out.”

    “Another day; another Doug.”

“Now you remind me of dad...”

“Are you Thor, God of Hammers? Hm?”

Guys, read the Tom King Vision 12 issue mini from a few years ago before watching WandaVision. It will inform things well, and it's the best superhero comic that came out that year.

    Also, Agatha Harkness! Yes!

Avengers: Infinity War was still alright.
Thanos vs. Hulk… nice. I really like the way the they do the physically large characters.
Thanos doing the building block destruction of Drax and Mantis ribbons… and the soap bubble gun. Very much akin to the comic series (but personally, there are something in the Infinity Gauntlet series that I like more than the movie...)
    Really like Black Widow’s costume.
    Poor Nebula.
I still like Rocket’s character arc.
    Nidavellir is cool.
Red Skull as the guide to the Soul Stone is still good (I get why Death, as a character, wasn't used the same way as the comics but I still would have liked it).
    Poor Gamora.
Cap and Black Panther at the forefront made me smile.
I just clued in that Wanda can do that to Vision because she got her powers from the Mind stone as well (which also make the witch in same league as Captain Marvel).
    Aw, poor Vision.
    All those death scenes.
Two reused Marvel actors this time! Peter Dinklage as Eitri and well as Trask in Days Of Future Past, and also Josh Brolin as Thanos and Cable in Deadpool 2.

“The Hulka Hulka Burning Fudge is our favourite.”

“What’s a matter with you kids, never seen a space ship before?"

“Stonekeeper, does this chattering animal speak for you?”

“Dude, you’re embarassing me infront of the wizards.”

“This is not a dude. You’re a dude. This is a man. A handsome, muscular man.”

“I bid you farewell and good luck Morons. Bye.”

“You can’t be a friendly, neighbourhood Spider-man if there’s no neighbourhood.”

“I seriously don’t know how you fit that head inside the helmet.”

“Dear brother huh? That can be annoying.” “Well, he's been dead before...”

    “DIE BLANKET OF DEATH!”

“I’ll do you one better, why is Gamora?”

“Kicks names. Take ass.” “Yeah, that’s right.”

“When you said you were going to open Wakanda to the world, this is not what I imagined.” “What did you imagined” “The Olympics, maybe a Starbucks.”

“…and get his man a shield.”

    “More power rabbit!”

    “Oh I’ll get that arm…”

“Why was she up there all this time?”

Ahhh fine, I'll post this here...

So, in the above post you see one thread of screen shots and then I fucked up and started a second one.

Had I been thinking earlier, I'd have taken shots from all the movies... but nooooo.... I start with Winter Soldier. Ah well.

Avengers: Endgame ... oof. It still can pack a punch. I like it.
That opening scene with Clint’s family.
    The group therapy scene.
Not the best of movies to watch during COVID time.
Hulk shares his tacos. Hulk vs. Chitari with a car.
I like time travelling integration of the past movies and seeing all the other characters.
    Cap vs. Cap.
    Crispy arm Nebula.
Seeing Jarvis from the Agent Carter show was nice.
I still like the women’s charge.
Never knew who the kid standing alone at the funeral was... so I looked it up. It's the kid from Iron Man 3.
    The reunion scenes.
    Peggy and Steve dancing.

It'll be interesting to see where the Black Widow movie fits in and where Thor: Love and Thunder will take us.
I wonder where WandaVision will start, or will it take place between Civil War and Infinity Gauntlet (I'm not one of those fan who likes to dig deep before the new stuff arrives... I like to be surprised).
Falcon and Winter Soldier can pick up pretty easily after Endgame.
The Loki series can pick up anywhere as well.

“You know I’d offer to cook you dinner but you seem pretty miserable already.”

“Scott, I get e-mails from a raccoon, so, nothing sounds crazy anymore.”

“You look like melted ice cream.”

“Take it easy, you’re only a genius on Earth, pal…”

    “So many stairs!”

    “That is America’s ass.”

This is one? Seriously?” “The choices were him or a tree.”

“Hey Peter Parker, you got something for me?”

    “…you can rest now.”

“Oh yes please, use knives.” *Mantis fingers*

a tweet I saw yesterday, paraphrased: For as few people wanted or cared about Inhumans, even fewer want or care about Eternals.

Which you could use the same argument RE GotG when it was released so we'll see.
