Almost Holy (née Gennadiy) - Score by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, & Bobby Krlic

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...y?ref=category

Gennadiy works through the political system as an activist, and he runs an orphanage, but the system doesn’t work fast enough for him—or for the thousands of street kids who live in his city of Mariupal, Ukraine, most of whom are addicted to a lethal cocktail of injected cold medicine and alcohol. So at night, he goes on raids for the lost children in the ruins of this empire.

Atticus is scoring, looks like it's going to be pretty awesome.

Hmm, how odd, it now says Leo Ross. Who is still awesome. Close thread as it's no longer relevant#

    Awesome.

I had a word with the producer and he said that there's a chance they'll put a couple of score-related rewards out, which should be awesome.

New sample video up, the music is very unnerving, suits the scene.

And I should add, this has abused children and drug addiction so might not be suitable for all.

The film's been renamed to Crocodile Gennadiy, has a release date of early 2015, and I asked the director and he says an OST release is likely!

Gennadiy is a man - it's a documentary about a man who (forcefully) rescues Ukranian children from drug addiction and other vices, which by sheer chance they started filming just as the Ukranian revolution started.

Crocodile Gennadiy (Gena for short) is also a character from popular Soviet animation series.

    From the latest Kickstarter update:

We’re still hard at work in the edit suite. We’ve been working long days and nights to lock the edit by the first week of February. We’ve also been receiving the final mixes for the score by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, and Bobby Krlic. It’s an honor to work with such talented composers and we couldn’t be happier with their pieces.

Crocodile Gennadiy is playing this Saturday evening and next Wednesday evening at the Roxie in San Francisco as part of DOCFest. I'll be attending the Wednesday night screening. Very interested in what the Ross/Krlic score sounds like.

Still no announcements for Europe sadly.

But the chances of a score release, even if only digital, still seem strong!

    Looks interesting!

Can't help but think that Krokodil Gennadiy would have been a better title, though.

I wasn't aware that they'd changed the title to Almost Holy. When I saw the film last year in San Francisco, Atticus, Leopold and Bobby were literally the first credits in the film. It was very cool. The score beds in the film made already tense situations even more intense, just like Trent and Atticus' work on Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. It is an excellent documentary and I'm glad to see it getting a wider release.

June 2016 - release date for the UK.
I hope I don't have to wait for too long until it hits the german theaters.
Or at least a legal download option.

Haven't heard much said about this score. Currently listening to it. Not bad.

    *cough*

(Yeah I know, they changed the film name twice so the thread's confusing). The score is fucking awesome though

Almost Holy is a better name than Gennadiy, no wonder they changed it.

I picked this up in a sale just before Christmas. Haven't listened yet. Should it jump the queue?
