Ubisoft is working on (codename) Assassin's Creed: Infinity. An always online game service similar to GTA Online.

- Always evolving with multiple settings and time periods.
- Timeline for years of planned DLC, content drops, etc.
- Inspired by GTA:O, Fortnite, etc.
- Full games 'within the universe' that will look/feel different but be connected.

Now word that Ubisoft is planning on releasing another standalone AC game (codename AC: Rift) that began as an expansion to Valhalla, but got big enough they figured it could stand on its own. Will focus more on stealth (the series has shifted a bit more towards all out action recently). Infinity will continue to be worked on but not expected to release until 2023 or later.

All kinds of events both in-game and at the official website to celebrate AC's 15th anniversary, culminating with a live reveal in September of 'the future of Assassin's Creed'. Not sure if it'll be the online 'Infinity' game or that other rumored standalone...maybe both?

My interpretation of the language around infinity isn't so much that it's an MMO so much as a content platform. Whereas instead of releasing sequels ad nauseum they'll push content through this hub and built it out that way

So yeah, there’s the last DLC for Valhalla, Mirage soon, two new full titles (the Hexe and Red code names), and Infinity is sorta like Halo’s MCC…a hub where there’s free and paid stuff, all the standalone games…the new ones…where they’ll have DLC that ties all the standalone games together (I.e. DLC with characters together from diff games)….as well as the Netflix show, Black Flag animated show…and codename Invictus which will be the new multiplayer.

That’s……. a lot.
