EP is good, loving Iron Rooster. They deserve a break, as they/Dave seem to not had a break since Sound City which was released 2 1/2 years ago. Seems longer....!

All 147 Foo fighters songs ranked from worst to best. According to SPIN anyway. Can't say I personally agree with the list 100%, but it's a good read either way.

Soooo...official announcement later tonight. Either the long-rumored breakup / hiatus, or season two of Sonic Highways (wishful thinking).
Article.
The band is going on an indefinite hiatus: http://www.avclub.com/article/new-da...mminent-233153
Not entirely surprised but I understand why as at least they'll come back.
well, chevy metal is back though and will play next summer, maybe this a curveball, ff goes away, chevy metal turns official?
LOL never mind. It's live. Spoiler alert: "For the millionth time, we're not breaking up. And nobody's going fucking solo!"
OK, here's the announcement:
Haha that was sooooo good.
This reminds me of all the people saying TR "broke up" Nine Inch Nails just because he said he wanted a break from touring.
They announced the break months ago with the Saint Cecilia EP. It's like people think they were just lying or trying to hide problems between the members.
New Song - Run. I enjoy this departure from Sonic Highways.
lol, I was expecting zombies to come out and make this a gore fest.
song would have been better is shorter IMO
I really like it, Taylor's drums sound weird though...
oh man, there is me waiting for the new Queens record and all I get is another Foo Fighters single...
but I have to confess that I they'd put out more songs like this, white limo or low I would buy their record in no time.

... They're actually coming to Birmingham! We rarely get rock shows of this caliber, so I'm excited about that. Here's to not driving to Atlanta! Please take note, Mr. Reznor. The only hometown NIN show to date was 2006, and sadly that was a few months before my interest in the band was renewed.

"Sky is a Neighborhood" melody kinda sounds like a Portugal. The Man song to me, especially in the chorus. Anybody else see the connection?
I just think it sucks...super generic and forced. I really liked "Run" too and was a little excited.
I think it's great! But then again, I heard a recording of a live version first and "meh" was my first impression of it as well.
The studio version packs much more of a punch than the live versions I've heard.
I really dig both the songs off the new records so far. Saw videos of some of the other songs coming up played live, and they're not bad either.
So far, I'm really getting into this era of the foos!
They come and go for me. My "true" introduction to the foos was "The Colour and the Shape" (I say "true" because technically the first foo song I heard was "Big Me" When I saw the video on Much Music, but it wasn't until I saw the Monkey Wrench video that I knew this band was something special)
I went out and bought the colour and the shape, and it instantly resonated with me. However, when "There is nothing left to lose" came out, I hated it and abandoned them.
Then, One by One came out and I was fully back in foo mode! Then In your honor and Echoes, Silence...etc came out and I jumped off again. Wasted Light brought me back in, but Sonic Highways pushed me away.
I have a love/hate relationship with Foo Fighters records. The ones that are good, are realllly good. But, they do have a lot of lull's in their discography. I'll give ya that.
Speaking of The Colour and the shape.... why do I no longer have this record in my CD collection???? WTF.... What Blasphemy is this? Where did it go? Straight to the thrift store for me today to see if I can find a copy for $2 I guess....
They posted a teaser of a new song today. Sounds pretty badass.
leaked.
I just finished my first listen, the record has a very "classic rock" vibe to it. Like something you'd hear in the 70s or earlier. Lots of classic rock influence here.
It's better than Sonic Highways (I hated that record), but I won't be placing this record high on my "Best of the foos" album list.
The stand our tracks for me were both the singles, 'Run' and 'The Sky is a Neighborhood'
I probably won't be listening to this record very often. It wasn't awful, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
I like The Line. Really good song.
Is this streaming anywhere?
This is the best thing they've done in years. Arrows, Dirty Water, and Sunday Rain are early standouts for me.
Wasn't sure how much I cared for the record the first time around, but it's since grown on me. The 3 songs you mentioned are probably my favourite tracks from the whole thing.
I keep going back to Dirty Water in particular.
The album is very different from what they usually do.
I really like the album but the production is shit. Sounds so quiet and compressed. Only way I can describe it.
I've listened to Concrete and Gold twice already, and so far no song has reached the heights of the first single for me yet.
I'm gonna keep giving it a spin so I can digest it properly. I hope it grows on me.
