Typical Korn for the most part. Absolutely hate the chorus.

Actually dig it. Way too much chorus. All they seem to know how to write these days are choruses.

Wanted to enjoy it. Found myself turning it off about 2 minutes in. Bummer.

Yeah, I didn't like it either. I might be the extreme minority here, but I actually enjoyed their dubstep record a few years ago. They tried something new, and I think that's why I liked it. I joked to my girlfriend after we listened to the new song that KoRn has become the new ac/dc. All their songs these days sound the same.

You're not alone. I consider The Path of Totality to be among their best.

New song is okay. Sounds like a single. Wasn't so much a fan of The Serenity of Suffering as it suffered from far too many choruses (although this can be said of much of their material of late). The band's been around for over 25 years, so it's inevitable that they're going to run out of ideas.

Hopefully this new one takes a slightly different direction.

This is like the first Korn song I wanted to not even listen to the end, started out so badly. Thank God I finished it, because it was actually as garbage as it started.

I liked everything Korn did, except Korn 3, but this one is just abyssmal. Either be commercial, and produce something sweet to my ears, no matter how silly or simple it is, or fuck shit up and surprise me. They somehow managed to sound like a Korn tribute band trying to imitate Korn without the actual talent and musical experience.

This new one felt quite similar to Korn 3, for me. What was the teaser for that? Oildale (Leave me alone)? I had the same reaction - okay, so they're back on radar, let's see if full album's got an interesting tune. Davis' recent album seemed to fill the gap just fine, though...

I absolutely hated that Davis solo record at first. Thought it was awful. But it actually grew on me to the point where it's really not bad at all. Better than most KoRn records anyway. There was a period I'd say after untouchables and until the path to whatever it's called lol... that they really took a dive in record quality. All those records between 2004-2012 were really, really bad. They're on record #13 now, and more than half of them are forgettable.

After Issues, they fell off imo. Absolutely hated Untouchables. Didn't mind Mirror too much. Everything up to the last album is awful. Last album felt like a return to form in a way. Way better than the last several albums

Gotta say i absolutely adore Untouchables, probably more than any other release, but then it was released just after i had got into them.

Saying that most of everything after that very hit and miss for me.

I think syotos and untitled had quite a few good moments, especially untitled, since then it's been pretty generic to me and I get bored after a few listens, just like manson's later stuff, once the novelty factor fades away that's it.

Untouchables stands out because of how radical a departure it was. It was a bit more mature overall than some of the previous work (with the exception of Beat It Upright) and it had a lot more vulnerability as far as Korn is concerned.

The vocals on Untouchables really bother me. Not a fan of JD's high notes at all. And his voice had this filter that made it even worse. Mostly his vocals that ruined the album for me tbh. Some songs are just wtf or forgettable too. One More Time is one of my least favorite Korn songs, ever.

So it's a concept album about The Neverending Story?

Listened to this new song. Good production. Not my thing.

I dont think they will ever come close to the first four albums ever again. The last one did they did was probably the best of their post-90s albums, imo.

I like Korn but their sound is dated, even when they started branching out with the dubstep bullshit and electronics. They STILL go back to the roots but it gets weaker and less impactful as time goes on.

Yeah, they've really backed themselves into a corner. It still works for them though. Every time they try to venture out they either miss the boat or they catch shit for it. I just wish they would try to get awhile from pop structured songs more and go all out and experimental and heavy.
