Yeah, the ball was dropped on this one. The sleeve with the 7" is loose inside the actual sleeve jacket so being moved around in transit caused the record to gouge the sides out.
I'm not gonna jump through hoops to get it rectified because I don't care THAT much but it does make me upset considering I bought it brand spanking new. I bet all copies have this problem.
I've had a busy weekend, but I saw Ghost on Friday night (album release show!) and they were absolutely phenomenal! It was seriously one of the best shows I've ever been to and I've been to a lot of shows. I saw them open for Iron Maiden last year, but I didn't really know their material yet (pretty much just Square Hammer). They impressed me so much that I downloaded all of their back catalog as soon as I got home, though. But this show probably cracks my top 10 concerts list. If you have a chance to catch them on this tour, do it. You won't be disappointed. The way the show is split into two sets, separated by an intermission almost made it feel like they played two shows in a row. The way they began both sets was awesome too. A personal highlight for me was seeing From the Pinnacle to the Pit (a personal favorite) and Faith (my favorite from Prequelle) back-to-back.
Got my record, nice and in pristine condition. Not a fan of the vinyl jacket being all paper though. Guess I wont be taking this one out as much.
I like it, but it's their worst album. Kind of missing the harder stuff with the occult lyrics right now, but things change.
I like the new direction.
It's both "proggy" and "poppier" (both faces of the band we've seen tiny bits before...)
I loved the instrumental tracks and the introduction of "sax" in the "ghostverse", i do think it rates the lowest in their discography, but it isn't a bad album, not by a mile
Not their worst by a long shot. I thoroughly enjoyed this record on my first spin, and I can safely say it has only gotten better with each listen since then.
Some of the songs have really grown on me. I'm feeling bold, but I think I'm going to rank this as their second best record. Just because it isn't hard and heavy doesn't mean it should get glanced over. I think people don't like it when a band tries something new. I actually kind of like this softer side of Ghost to be honest.
Here is my current ranking.
1. Infestissumam
2. Prequelle
3. Opus Eponymous
4. Meloria
Prequelle and Opus are really close though. Meloria is easily my least favourite of the bunch.
I think I'd rank them as follows, though Prequelle and Infestissumam are neck and neck, almost tied. ALL are great albums, though. I've been listening to their studio discography (excluding live tracks and C&D) lately.
1. Meliora
2. Infestissumam
3. Prequelle
4. Opus Eponymous

I really need to go back and listen to this band more. I think I've made a mistake in treating them as a sort of novelty act over the years. I saw them open for Opeth/Mastodon when they were brand new, and thought they were a damn good gimmick, and was happy to see them share the stage with NIN at Lollapalooza in 2013.
But damn, some of these songs on the new album are extremely good. I absolutely love 'See the Light' and I think I maybe overlooked Meliora and Infestissumam. Have always loved Opus Eponymous.
New update on the battle jacket vest I posted in Outbursts Of Joy! thread, I got my pins (Papa Emeritus II and A Nameless Ghoul) today in the mail for it.
They should make an enamel pin of the Ghost logo, I'd get that! Still trying to find the NIN enamel pin...
No Vancouver date? Boo.

Ehhh fuck it. Went for A Black Package VIP ticket.
I don't usually feel compelled to buy a VIP ticket for anything, i usually think it's a ripoff. But for Ghost, I probably would buy one. I think it would be a fun experience.
