For anyone that pre-ordered the album from Loma Vista: check your email. I got an email with an updated digital download link that included both Rats (@160kbps) and Dance Macabre (@320kbps).
I agree with the sentiment that it doesn't really sound like Ghost.
Didn't like the song first hearing it. However it has now grown on me.
This is a different type of Ghost though. Doesn't make it any less awesome though!
Total hard rock mid-80s movie soundtrack stuff, but then again I love that music. Loma Vista sent the mp3.
I have no problem with them getting bigger, but four rock music news sites I read have been putting up stories about Ghost almost every single day. Kinda miss the days when I felt like the people who knew about them were "in the know".
But honestly, with this guy's ability to write poppy choruses, it was never meant to be.
Bloody hell... why does every video I click on about the new song say it is not available in my region...
Does Ghost not want to reach their fans outside the USA? What kinda nonsense is this...
The official Ghost YouTube even posted the video in my feed and THAT doesn't work either... region locked by some shitty excuse...
EDIT: OK, I finally heard it. It's not bad... quite cheesy. Very 80s like. Not bad. Sure sounds like Ghost is moving away from the campy horror era, but this is a fun song in a silly/cheesy way. I didn't completely hate it upon first listen which is good, hah.

From the live videos, I was expecting more synth. But I like it!
So this is the first time I've heard a Ghost song and from what I can tell it's not indicative of their sound. My first impression was that it's kind of Scorpions-ish, if that makes sense.
I've been doing some Google searches and I love the vibe they're putting out. Is there any particular album to start with, or just pick up from the beginning?
Yeah, for me, my introduction to the band was their second album - infestissumam. I think that record is their best record, but like @sonic_discord , it all depends on who you ask. There are people out there that swear they were at their peak on their first record and it was all downhill after that. I disagree.
But for me, Meliora (their 3rd record) is the one I dislike the most of all their records. That could very well change in a couple weeks once I hear Prequelle. I'm not sure what to think so far based on what I've heard. I'll save my judgement after a few listens of the record from front to back.
I'm probably one of the rare people that actually really like the popstar EP. I'd probably say that's right after their 2nd record for my favourite material personally.
Only 10 more days until Prequelle! Super excited!
I think Square Hammer is their best song & it's only 2 years old I think, but you should still start with the first record b/c its really, really good & then you can track their progression.
NYC Prequelle Listening Party on May 30th!

Alright, so I listened to the EPs and it's not at all what I expected. I still hear a Scorpions vibe, and I can only put my finger on the singers voice because it's not the music. I'm off to the albums now.
On topic of the EPs I want to hear Ghost cover a Killing Joke song.
Amazing quality.
3 days until release. I'm surprised this thing hasn't leaked yet. Strange how some records leak weeks ahead of time and others only a couple days/hours before the release.
Goddamn, Friday cannot come soon enough!
On the Ghost subreddit, it looks like people have started to receive Prequelle today
People are posting pictures of their albums. Super jealous! I ordered the bundle from their website and I got an email saying shipping is delayed.
Memrin has snippets in his Instagram story. Ahhhh they all sound so good!
....aaaannnnndddd it's leaked!
Yeah, it did. Now I have to struggle through the next 3 hours of work....
I LOVE Faith. Can't wait to (hopefully) see that one live on Friday at the Palace Theatre! Jamming out to Miasma at work now...
I can hold two more days, I can hold two more days.
4 songs in, I'm really digging what I hear. This is great.
EDIT: Just finished my first listen. Pretty good record. I enjoy it more than Meliora. I would still rank infestissumam as my #1 record, but this was a pleasant surprise.
I'm used to a huge epic closing song though, and I felt that this record didn't really have that, but overall great record.
Highlights other than the singles were: See the Light, Miasma, Pro Memoria and It's a Sin. Despite not being the huge epic closer I was expecting, I still really liked Avalanche as well.
I'd give is a solid 8/10 upon first listen.

Pro Memoria is epic.
I love It's A Sin, it's close to Nocturnal Me and Crucified in favorite covers.
