I bought the deluxe Above too just for "Live at the Moore"

The bonus tracks with Mark Lanegan ain't half bad either.

They're excellent. The Seattle show, which is more like a bootleg, the pictures, essay, the Moore show and bonus tracks make the reissue one of the best re-releases I've ever bought.

I'm just discovering it now as I never owned the VHS tape and first owned it when I bought the deluxe edition of Mad Season's Above. Watching Mark Lanegan make a guest appearance is pretty sweet.

I'd probably have to rank Above above the last three AIC albums, all of which I liked--it's just that fucking good.
I first found about it around 12-13 years ago while i was renting movies at a blockbuster or some shit. I seriously debated on just keeping the vhs and telling the store my sisters dog ate it. A few years later when i finally got a computer it was among the first things i looked for on dc++ to try and download. It took me a few months to find anyone who had it a probably another couple to actual download it but it was totally worth it as i've watched it many many times since then. Definitely one of my go to videos when can't think of anything to watch or listen to at home. Such an awesome show.

Alice In Chains related. Looks like the surviving members of Mad Season will perform a one-off show with Duff Mckagan and Chris Cornell.

I'd love a soundboard quality bootleg of this show.

That will be pretty damn cool. Shame that Lanegan can't join them.

Bummer that they aren't coming to Boston. They haven't been here in five years.

Ye, its just a shame that he wasn't able to keep it together and kick the habit.
I always felt AIC could have done so much more and sadly i missed one chance to see them with Layne in 1993 when they toured Australia. My friend and cousin went to the show though...

Anyone seeing them this year, or saw them? I'm going to the Boston show this fall, hadn't seen them since 2010. Bummed they didn't play with GNR in Boston this summer, so this makes up for that.

Been on a Black Gives Way to Blue kick, outstanding album.

Hmm... Good point. I forget that recording studios can also serve as rehearsal spaces.

I know I'm probably in the vast minority on this, but their most recent album was one of my favorite things they've ever" done, Layne and post-Layne..
"Phantom Limb" is easily one of their best songs.

I saw them open for G 'n R 2 years ago in Seattle. In a cool move, G n R let them play longer than the usual opening set. They were great. It was the first time I'd seen them without Layne & I was impressed. In fact, I liked them more than G n R haha.

    Hoping for:

    1. More singing from William (Jerry seemed to sing more on the last one).
    2. Don't play it so safe (like the last one).
    3. Professionally record a show for a future release.

I still maintain that AiC at their worst (which imo is Devil) is still better then most rock and metal nowadays. I share this opinion with Deftones...which funny enough, not only toured with (which i got to see in 2010, front row too!) but Jerry was on Gore too.
