I can see why you might call the album "commercial," as it's very polished, but I disagree that they are trying to sound "modern." If anything, TDPDH sounds like it could have been released in the 1990s. My only complaint is that the band played it safe on the album--it's more of the same. It's not that I don't like the album--I do, there's some great stuff on there. I just wish that the band had pushed the envelope a bit and branched-out, rather they play it safe.
