I insisted that chatgpt tells me if it likes QOTSA or NIN more

If I were to hypothetically possess personal taste as a human, it would be subjective and based on my individual preferences. Please keep in mind that these preferences are entirely fictional since I am an AI language model. That being said, as an imaginary human, I might personally lean towards Nine Inch Nails. I appreciate their innovative blend of industrial rock, electronic elements, and introspective lyrics. However, this preference would be purely fictional, as I do not have personal opinions or preferences as an AI.

NINE INCH NAILS AND KYLIE MINOGUE UNITE IN UNEXPECTED COLLABORATION, DELIVERING UNPARALLELED SONIC EXPERIENCE WITH "COLLISION OF SHADOWS"

[City, Date] – In an unprecedented collision of musical worlds, iconic industrial rock pioneers Nine Inch Nails and the queen of pop Kylie Minogue have joined forces to create their groundbreaking collaborative album, "Collision of Shadows." ###

Note: This press release is a fictional creation and does not reflect any actual plans or collaborations between Nine Inch Nails and Kylie Minogue.
edit: the first interview is out

Interviewer: We're here today with Trent Reznor and Kylie Minogue, two incredible artists who have joined forces for their new collaborative album, "Collision of Shadows." How did this unexpected pairing come about?

Trent: Well, you know, Kylie and I were having a late-night karaoke session at this underground club in Berlin. She belted out "Closer" while I attempted "Can't Get You Out of My Head," and somehow, in that chaotic mix, we realized there might be something interesting to explore together.

Kylie: (Laughs) It was a hilarious moment, indeed. I think we both surprised ourselves with how well our contrasting styles meshed. Trent's intense industrial vibes and my pop sensibilities collided in the most unexpected way, hence the album title.

Interviewer: That's fantastic! So, tell us, what was it like working together in the studio?

Trent: Kylie brought this infectious energy to the sessions. We'd be working on a dark, brooding track, and she'd come in with this dazzling smile, radiating positivity. It was like sunshine piercing through the shadows.

Kylie: And Trent's meticulous attention to detail blew my mind. I'd be humming a melody, and he'd transform it into something haunting and powerful. It was a true collaboration, bouncing ideas off each other and surprising ourselves along the way.

Interviewer: That sounds like a magical creative process. Were there any funny moments or inside jokes during the recording?

Trent: Oh, plenty! We had this ongoing debate about who could rock the black eyeliner better. I think we settled on a tie, but Kylie definitely wins in the glitter department.

Kylie: (Laughs) And I have to mention Trent's dance moves during our studio breaks. Let's just say his industrial stomping took a pop twist. It was a sight to behold.

Interviewer: I can only imagine! So, what can fans expect from "Collision of Shadows"?

Trent: A sonic rollercoaster ride! It's an exploration of our combined strengths, with unexpected twists and turns. We've crafted something that blurs the lines between our genres and leaves listeners questioning what they thought they knew about us.

Kylie: Absolutely! It's a dark and seductive journey with moments of pure pop ecstasy. Prepare to have your musical boundaries challenged and your senses heightened.

Interviewer: Well, we can't wait to experience "Collision of Shadows." Thank you both for joining us today and sharing these delightful stories. Best of luck with the album and any future collaborations!

Trent: Thank you! It's been a pleasure.

Kylie: Thank you so much. We're excited for everyone to hear what we've created together.

I'll admit, I laughed at the thought of Trent doing karaoke in an underground Berlin club.

It just occurred to me that perhaps one of the reasons the Happiness In Slavery video didn't have such an effect on me is because some of the imagery reminded me a lot of scenes from T2 and had to come to terms with that already (thinking specifically of the forearm stuff) .

I was just listening to Queens of the Stone Age and was thinking how cool it would be if NIN, QOTSA, and Foo Fighters did a big show/tour together where they each had their own sets, but also did Mantra and Copy of A / My God Is The Sun together, had Trent come out for the QOTSA songs he guested on, have Dave come out for the QOTSA and NIN songs he drummed on, have a crazy Josh Freese / Ilan Rubin drum-off, plus some new collaborations and surprises they'd whip up just for the tour.

Putting this out into the universe in hopes it happens someday.

I like this idea, and I think NIN, Tool & RATM should do some big football stadium all day type shows as well. They each get an hour & 15, there's some smaller openers too, and the shows starts somewhere around 4pm. I don't part. like football stadium shows, but people would def go, and it would be quite the spectacle. Tool & RATM could alternate ending each show since they're clearly bigger than NIN at this point. Prolly wouldn't happen, but there's alot of friendships & collaborations between many members of these bands, and they are the three remaining big 90's aggressive alt acts that have basically the same audience.

Lol probably. But it would certainly be worth it and I'd pay to go without batting an eye! If you saw half the bands throughout the course of the year, it would be over $1k easy (though it SHOULDN'T be. Fuck you, TicketMaster). Tool, NIN, Foo Fighters, Rage, and QotSA alone would probably break $1,000.

I'm surprised it's even on Spotify. I looked for Option 30 on Apple Music, but no luck there.

I have a mint copy of Slam Bamboos' "White Lies" on vinyl, which also has production by Sean Beavan on it.

I'm shocked that any streaming service would have any of their music online. I wonder if anyone gets a random check for $2 in the mail for royalties?

I'm sure I'm not the first person to note this, but others may find this interesting: apparently that old Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D wallpaper (that I've been using as my phone background for the past decade and a half) is an edited (and reversed) picture of the Matosinhos oil refinery in Leça de Palmeira, Portugal.

Really cool you found this. Never knew it. Always wanted to know where Rob got this imagery. Makes sense because they were in Portugal at the start of the 2007 tour.

That would be awesome, but I think since NIN left Interscope they've not been able to do their own releases of past discography in any form - hence why the 3D Lights In The Sky release never happened, and why we haven't had any live releases since Beside You In Time.

Not true. They did the vinyl re-releases for Broken, The Downward Spiral, and The Fragile.

I don't think there's any legal issues with putting out a live release. I think it's just a lack of enthusiasm from Trent & Atticus. I mean, how many live projects have fallen by the wayside at this point? It's possible that they just want us to have the live experience...well...live.

I’m guessing that’s because they’re already an established release rather than a new thing. Legalities/royalties/more would dictate that likely the same people would be getting paid as they had from CD/online/streaming sales. A new product would mean a different deal.

As for the second element, I disagree, especially with Trent directly shouting out fan efforts of live bootleg releases

Ever see an item for sale, and you get so excited and say "I wish I had this item", and then you buy it. And then days later you realize you already have it?

I just ordered Option 30 4-track 7" release a week ago from Japan. Saw it for $10 and immediately pulled out my credit card and went ham. Just found out a few minutes ago that I already own one... I just never saw it in my collection cause it's a 7" release...

The other day, I almost bought "Bigger. Messier" because I remembered the first time I got a wrong record from Amazon, but the price turned me off. Today, I realized I already own it. Laughed my ass off.

My darn collection is almost complete, and I keep buying stuff I don't need. Literally missing only 5 items that are super hard to find.

    I'm getting old.

It's funny how Trent never once addressed California or LA specifically as his home state/hometown at the NIN shows, despite living there on permanent basis for 20 years now (and a few years in the 90s too). Yet every time he passes through NOLA and various cities in Ohio and Pennsylvania, it's always hometown gigs to him (based on stage banter).

I don't know how Trent feels, but to me, there's where you live, and then there's "home". "Home" is more mental and emotional than physical. They may be the same place, or they may not be. It just depends on your own experiences.
