Not specifically NIN-related, but I always thought that "Why so serious?" from Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard sounds like something Trent and Atticus would do. There's definitely a huge NIN vibe to it.
That being said, it's one of my favorite pieces from any soundtrack ever. They really should've gotten an Oscar for it.
What makes you think there's no guitar on Everything?
There's plenty of guitar on it, played by both Trent and Daniel Rowland.
It's actually pretty damn guitar heavy.
That's not why people don't like Everything, they don't like it because the verses sound happy.

@Your Name Here , i fucked a girl who had a coffin in her living room.
Then my brother fucked her IN the coffin.
@Khrz ,
Sorry guys. I can't get enough of that meme.
@Khrz i think i'm going to work some rendition/rewording of what you said there into a song lyric.
(for a mopey goth song)

I just really want Coffin on the Dance Floor to be a real song or album title that Trent makes. It's too good to go to waste in any capacity.

Trent could make an incredible album inspired by the content on echoingthesound. Seriously. There's enough material on here to inspire thousands of albums.
There is exact song and i'm not sure we really want another:
What a pathetic string of words
Just leave them lying on the floor
The warning posted on the door
Not over here, not anymore
There was a place that could have been
Step over all that used to be
Since you have let yourself come in
Some things I’d rather you not see...
aren't there rules against posting that?
::saves image quickly before it's taken down b/c wtf I can't believe that is out there/posted on here::
The Tension lineup never covering Pink Floyd's Money after All Time Low is an absolute tragedy.
I think I know what that picture was...
YOU LEAKED THE NEW NIN ALBUM COVER
If the picture was what I think it was, it's been discussed time and again that it's not to be posted.
MOVING ON.
Every time I go to [multi-billion dollar hell hole chain store] I look up at the Reznor heaters they have. Usually I don't even think about it, I just find myself doing it. I think I'm in some massive NIN withdrawal...
Welly-well
So what is up with the awful phasing/artifacts on the And All That Could Have Been cd? It's been bugging me for years and every time I listen to it as soon as I notice it again it starts to bug me.
i talked about that recently, but i can't remember what thread.
it has always sounded to me like they focused on the mix for the DVDs and then improperly dithered it from 48kHz 24-bit down to 44.1kHz 16-bit, which could cause that kind of artifacting. it's terribly annoying and makes an otherwise great live album almost impossible to enjoy.
It seems to get more prominent the further into the album you are too. I didn't get the DVD until like 3 or 4 years after I got the CD so I guess I just didn't really notice the dithering or whatever it is before that. A week or two after watching that I was listening to AATCHB in the car and started hearing it. At first I thought it might have been just that awful sound lossy audio files can make at low bitrates so I ripped the disc again. Still sounded off. Listened to the CD directly, still present so I just gave up on it. I still listen to it a lot, but it just bugs me that someone listened to the final product or a test pressing and said 'yeah this is fine'.
