Well that was more straightforward than most of the newsletters.

Now I'm wondering if "curve ball" is an EP of sorts.

Surprisingly straightforward. My guess for the curveball is Salival type release. I also really wish they got around to editing and releasing the filmed Lateralus era shows.

I'm not holding my breath for anything too special to be announced later this month.

I'm betting there's a whole lot going on but it's just not at a complete stage yet. I mean, all of Tool's albums have been somewhat thematic so it would make sense for Maynard to know what he's working with. The band has said they write a lot more than they record.

It sounds like the process behind Lateralus. The band wrote while Maynard did A Perfect Circle. (And after everyone got over the "is the band going to break up" thing.)

Just checking in to see if there's any new album news but there's not so ok.

(oh, and the 23rd is just a few hours from being over with here. Not gonna lose any sleep wondering if an announcement will be made by morning; color me shocked if any actual news of interest has come up by then)

Does anyone have any more information about this live lounge version of Hooker at the end of ? Is that Maynard singing? Was this interlude common at shows?
