Got mah tickets!!!
*poos on them*
I got my ticket for Halloween night! To those of you coming in from out of state, the weather shouldn't be too hot that you'll melt by then.
They haven't recorded anything in over nine years. How much do you think they've hammered out in four months? Don't forget MJK had hip replacement surgery last month, so he's probably not driving or flying around much these days.
Thats great they got together one afternoon and jammed for Instagram. But it's been nine years of nothing. Where's the album?
So this is still happening right?
If this is a joke, I don't get it.
If it's not a joke, I still don't get it.
From the April newsletter fan Q&A, email asking how much it would cost for the band to play their backyard this summer. It had that poster on the homepage when when it was released...

Friendly heads-up in case anyone is interested: Undertow vinyl is currently $10 on Amazon.
What is a good price for the "3rd Leg" bootleg? Is it even worth anything?
I can't seem to find a listing of it anywhere on Discogs or Amazon to get a ballpark (and it's one of their more popular boots).
(Thanks to Hellboy)

and some things of note, copied and pasted...
Finally, I’ll make a couple of predictions, some of which may or may not be based in information collected over the last few months:
- Don’t get your hopes up for the 2015 release, but you should be somewhat confident that you’ll see a new Tool album in 2016, hopefully before the 10th Anniversary of 10,000 Days.
- The curveball will see the light of day in the next couple of months. It will be a surprise to many, and a disappointment to some.
- European fans will be happy to see Tool doing the rounds in summer next year.
- Don’t be surprised if another show or two happens this year.
- Toolband will be updated in the next 6 months. It still won’t include an RSS feed
- We’ll see a change of direction in Tool art on the next album. Think of the work done by Adi Granov on the Opiate reissue.
Dont to get it confused with www.toolband.com
:P
a: what in the fuck is the curveball?
b: did MJK get "soon" from TRez? Do these two laugh about it together?
c: @Krazy , how reliable is this source? is there a serious possibility that there will be a new tool album in 2016?
Adam's mostly the art guy.
I dunno about the art. Opiate is really the only artwork that "themes" with the music. The rest of it incorporates themes or has references (the lenticular Arizona Bay).
Lateralus is the only album art I can think of that specifically plays in with the theme of the album. And of course that's all open to interpretation.
Okay, then i guess it's "Unless ADAM and Alex got in some ki...."
It just seems to me that they REALLY like alex grey. It seems to me that they, perhaps, met a kindred spirit.
Of course, "seems to me" is the key phrase here, so, you know.
Depends on content, right? Maybe the musical and lyrical direction won't make sense with Alex Grey art.
And certainly the fact that 10,000 Days uses pre-existing Grey art is to be considered. I mean, anyone can probably pay the guy to use a previous artwork for an album cover.
hellboy, the guy who runs Fourtheye, has absolutely been known to communicate with Blair and other people close to the band. Although it's unlikely all of those things are true, I'd wager (and hope) that the majority of them are.
Also the one I hope for the most is NO MORE FUCKING ALEX GREY.
a) The "curveball" is something that Blair (toolband.com webmaster and known troll) has been mentioning in newsletters for probably a good 5 years now- it's a supposed secret Tool project that isn't known to fans (i.e. not the upcoming album, but something unexpected).
b) Honestly if people wanna point fingers it should start with Adam Jones, as he goes so does Tool is most peoples understanding.
c) See below...
Three years from now we'll still probably be discussing this same shit, lol.
