He posted about that awhile back and tagged the artist and stuff. I guess his wife inspired him or something? I pay attention but I'm not savantish enough to remember that verbatim.
I have to say, this puts his recent live shows in a different perspective. A hip condition like that doesn't develop overnight. He must have been in a helluva lot of pain and/or on some serious meds.

The centipede tattoo was done by Kim Saigh at Memoir Tattoo in LA. He did it to help get over his fear of centipedes. Fairly sure he has a rattlesnake tattoo done by the same artist. Desert shit.
Also I love bugs and reptiles so I'm a bit partial, but the tattoos are damn good.

I would like to think not. Not to make light of hip replacement, but many people get them in latter years and wouldn't categorize it as "serious".

Well, dying of natural causes can happen as soon as, well, as soon as right now to be honest. But yeah, apart from cases like Manson dying of a total system shutdown at 60, we'll probably be too deaf to even care about music when our stars will start to die of old age, at least for early-ish adopters...
Reznor, Keenan are only roughly ten years older than me for instance, and have a lot more money to pour into medical care than I do.
Man, now you made me worried that they won't die before me...

Not for nothing, guys, but none of the Rolling Stones have had hip replacements. They do have an AED set up on tour with them backstage, however, which maybe would have saved NIN a show cancellation or two, had they thought to do the same thing back in 2005.

I dont think we will hear new tool for awhile. Not before the last quarter of 2016. Which sucks but i think when we do, it will be worth it. Like double album worth it. They will give us something sooner though like the curveball/live thing/whatever the fuck it is. Heres hoping...

Not for nothing, but I've never been on a tour that didn't have an ambulance and multiple EMTs on the ready at all times. Having an AED backstage doesn't mean jack; safety is taken seriously in that industry. And that wouldn't have saved a NIN show or two - if you leave the show mid-set for heart problems, you don't just get zapped and go back on stage. You go to a hospital to make sure that your heart isn't about to explode.
