The iTunes edition will also contain an exclusive bonus track: Lost Decade (Blame Maynard)
i was thinking any live or b-sides releases would have been released already during the lawsuit, which i think was the whole point of doing Salival.
then again, maybe that was the purpose of the Opiate reissue and the $200 blankets made from old t-shirts.
I'm happy to announce that, as little material as there is, my Tool collection is finally complete. Now to wait patiently six years for the new album.
Salival was more like a, "We're still here, don't worry."
To think of it, a B-Sides compilation doesn't seem that far fetched. Demos of various songs, unused segues (of which they said they had several from Lateralus), or alternate takes that were left out that the band might have been on the fence about.
Hell, listen to early recordings of Jerk-Off. The Opiate version doesn't have Adam's little guitar part in the bridge but other versions do and it eventually grew into a full-length interlude in 96.
A little bit of speculation: what Joe Barresi is mixing is an EP. It will only have one track, the "would be jam", similar to Meshuggah's I. The LP will be released later this year. That's my guess.
Could it be that he's mixing a finished instrumental that doesn't require Maynard's involvement?
Or is inviting a mixer before the rest of the stuff is finished rather uncommon? (I have no idea)

I can't imagine Adam would upload a picture if Joe wasn't mixing something meant for public consumption soon.
Oh god, this is hilarious!
I don't know if we can embed Instagram on here yet, but here you go.

Haha, why is he berating them for not knowing the current status of their secret society? Anyways, new Tool album in 2018.
I can't wait for this to come out solely for peoples' reaction of "...I waited since 2005 for this shit?"
I'm taking a shot in the dark, but I think it'll actually be fucking amazing... and then somehow the fans will get worse.
I can dig their 90s albums, but their 2000’s stuff (epically 10,000 Days) never did much for me. I can respect it, but rarely chose to listen to it. Is that weird? If they ever do put out a new album it will be interesting to hear if and how their sound has evolved over the last 10 or so years.
I realize now that Aenima is a much better album than Lateralus.
I love that comments are disabled for this. Gee, wonder why.
Dis thrade, plz stop bumping eet.
How weird this thread is up with new posts while I'm listening to Undertow.
Danny's tie is probably longer than me.
