That's a shame, it's awesome. Hopefully they will release some rarities at some point.

can we acknowledge how awesome his twitter bio is:
you know you've lived a pretty great life when that's your life in 140 characters or less. Call Me Maybe FTW"Producer/Mixer of the best music in the world! Skinny Puppy/NIN/Marilyn Manson/Marianas Trench/Carly Rae Jepsen"
oh, no doubt. I still think its a beautiful album. But for some people -- myself included -- Tool just seems to have this effect of coloring your entire frame of reference. I thought I was growing as an individual, but I wasn't. It's not the message, per se, its that Tool was just this reality-warping field, so seismic that the gravity of it just shifted everything around.
For awhile it really seemed like there was some hidden message to salvation in the music. I woke up a few years ago and realized I was walking around wearing a shirt that identified exactly what I was acting like. Now that I'm older, I find that while I'm way less fixated on the band (I can't remember the last time I actually listened to them), I appreciate the music a lot more for what it is: epic, dorky spirituality-meets-prog.
Knowing MJK, that's pretty much a given.

Yeah intermission is pretty much the only filler track worth actually listening to on that record.....maybe die eire von satan

Does Die Eier von Satan count as a filler track? Yeah, I dislike them other than Harry Manback and Intermission as well as DEVS if that counts. They just feel kind of pointless and pretentious tbh, one of the reasons why I prefer Lateralus personally.
A short US West coast Tool tour inbound? Talk of Tool playing some dates in California, Oregon and Washington before making their way south of the border. Apparently a radio station in Oregon announced the news that they will be playing on March 9th at the Matthew Knight Arena. Blair posted about some news that was to be revealed today, Jan 17th, that alludes to something coming with a picture of Adam playing. Nothing confirmed, but thought I'd share.

HAPPY TRAILS
Sad there is no confirmed Vancouver date... would fit in perfectly right before Spokane, but I guess they don't wanna deal with international board-crossing on this mini tour.
I'd love to hit up one of these shows if I could, but not enough time to plan around my work schedule which is already out for that time and am scheduled to work on all those days except for the 9th, but not gonna take a 1 off day to Reno and back just for TOOL. Oh well...
Well its been awhile I'm assuming this means new songs. I'm in….
I'll be shocked if they play any new, "full" song. Maybe they'll throw in a segue with a new riff or something.
Except for Reno these are cities they haven't played in awhile.
Tool, sit down.
AND FINISH THAT GODDAMN ALBUM BEFORE ANY MORE TOURING GODDAMNIT.
OK, you can go now. Take care.
At this point in time...FUCK TOOL lolz
Tool's playing five shows. Time for everyone to start bitching.
Looks like the days of Tool shows being GA are over. Just like in 2012 the floor is seating area. (I looked at Stubhub tickets and they got the maps up)
I'm a towering 5'4" giant (played center for the Lakers for over a dozen years!) so doesn't really effect me. I know a lot of people prefer the GA experience though.
They were playing some new riffs as segues during the short 2012 run. I wouldn't expect a full song with lyrics, as it seems that Maynard hasn't heard anything yet based on recent interviews, but they might play some extended sequences during their acoustic segues, similar to how they did pieces of Wings/10,000 Days during the Lateralus tour. After seeing the Vegas and Grand Prairie shows during the '12 run and being surprised with Hooker, Ticks, Pushit, and Parabol/a, I'm definitely hoping to catch them in Portland and SF this time around and looking forward to some more shake ups in the post-10,000 Days setlist.
The five upcoming shows are "album" shows.
They'll be playing Opiate straight through.
And then leaving.
